I've always had a connection with The Beatles so I guess I am a bit biased
    - - - - ABBEY ROAD - - - SGT PEPPERS - - - WHITE ALBUM
All of which I feel are Iconic (and bring back *for me* images of the day)
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON +STICKY FINGERS also have that degree of special quality about them

The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's and Revolver are definetely way near the top of my list, also the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street.

Any and all Molly Hatchet album covers are my favorite. Also, Roger Dean has done some really good ones as well for a few bands.

No offense, but are you serious about the White Album being a good cover?
So which part do you like best, the big white space or the group's name (also in white)?

Anyway, THIS is the best album cover of all time:

The Nymphs. I love this album, and when I first saw the cover I was entranced by it. It really describes the band well and seems like the perfect 90's proto grunge album cover.

No offence taken: Hey we're all friends here!

I feel that Album covers can show different aspects of promotion, some that shock, some portray humour, some have profound meaning, some to express creative imagination, some which are uniquely iconic (and some 'sadly', just to sell!") - but whatever reason they are liked, it is a personal choice and may well 'not' be of the initial and original intent

For me: 'The Beatles' : "White Album"
Was a simple design, which portrayed a concept of an 'open, endless and undefined construction'. One which the listener can form their own meaning of interpretation and understanding from when listening to the music within. (The album itself being somewhat diverse in its content)
At the time of its release, the world was awash with Bright, Sharp/Vivid colours of spectrum illusion - a plain White cover was different to the day
Nothing complicated, just a '"This is us!" comment
((I also like the fact that it always referred to,/ known as the 'White Album' and not "The Beatles" ))
But hey! - that's just me - to each their own

Ah yes, Iron Maiden albums are great! They haven't been so good anymore after the X-factor though (just as the music :p).

And the one with the most t-shirt appearances in the history of t-shirts with album covers on

Also - this one isn't particularly brilliant but I had to stick it in...

I like this one very much as well, I dig the atmosphere (as on all their early albums). The band's in the background in the garden of the couple in front, which are Sandy Denny's parents. :)
