a poem to my departed friend

Just thought I post a poem i wrote to a very dear friend of mine who no longer lives.i hope that this poem can warm others hearts who have also been hurt by losing someone dear.

In memory of you


You were always kind
Blind to others cunning stabs
Wanting to get into your mind
Every year I light a candle in memory of you
Your times with me taught me something new
You were so true
To yourself

You sprinkled your love so generously
So unashamedly
That’s why I cannot let you go
That’s why I still miss you so

You were always too generous
Others laughed while you lived so selfless
But during those times I would have loved to hold you
Let you know why you were adored so
Like the gentle breeze in my hot day
You swayed the sun’s harsh ray
From my face

You were turned inside out
This is how you lived your life
The same ever day without a doubt
That’s why I cannot stop thinking of your embrace
That’s why I wish you were here to wipe the tears off my face
