I had a dream a couple of nights ago. Can't remember details but the main jist of it was that i was one among a tribe. We were peaceful people ...perhaps only one or two hundred of us living in a kind of bronze age way ...animal husbandry, agriculture and foraging was how we lived and we lived on a mountain. There was another mountain tribe who were not exactly hostile but were more aggressive than us and they were moving onto the land where we lived, driving us out to look for somewhere else to live. At the bottom of the mountain where the land met the sea there was a modern (present day) town ... like your average small coastal town. We knew how these people lived because i think we had lived like it before ourselves or had at least visited the town to become familiar with their way of life. And we looked down at this town from the mountainside and thought "Should we go and live with them like they do?" The town would be a tangible but less desirable option and moving on to continue our way of life would be an unknown. The dream ends there. Any thoughts?
For me: I feel there could be 2 meanings: 1) You take the view that it is a distant memory of a literal experience that you have faced. 2) Another way to view it as a philosophical choice, a decision that you either considering or should, consider. A choice that has been / needs to be made? The fact you woke up prior to a conclusion could be something you may / may not wish to delve further into (?) Hope this helps < Peace+Love~Save the Planet> + ROCK ON !
Sounds very similar to several dreams I've had. Though, I believe that these dreams were of a future time in which much of our present day society has fallen and many survivors of the changes have turned away from the 'old' ways, having lived and seen it's destructive ways. In one of these dreams I sailed from a group of islands, which were what was left of Washington State, to the coast of Wyoming. Having found a community with mostly friendly individuals I started a caravan south to find others a start trade routes and communications between the survivors. (I feel that I will not die until I see this come to fruition.) In another one I was in the Colorado area.. Obviously I must have started the caravan... this dream was about a personal choice that I would have to make while on this caravan, a woman I had known years before attempts to have relations with me even though I have relations with another whom I left behind for her safety... There are several others in which I meet tribal and agricultural communities and I actually look forward to living the adventure. ---------------- Now playing: Northaunt - Running Out Of Time
I think there's a few possibilities. Mountain and sea seem significant perhaps representing these two different lifestyles. Perhaps i do indeed face a choice about my lifestyle ..whether to keep moving and traveling light (kinda like i have been doing), or putting down roots and settling down. Nomadic versus static or perhaps non-attatched versus attatched? I've had a few 'post-apocalypse' type dreams in my time .. In one of them everyone had died of disease and famine but me and a very few others and i was talking to all their spirits and trying to help them understand what had happened. Another was very 'mad max' ...groups roaming about scavenging. I was with a very small group of about five of us, we trusted eachother and were like a family. I was mute and ... simple, but quite capable. We found a small girl alone and looked after her, taking her with us. We had a couple of firearms but don't remember using them. We were approached by a large group of a hundred or more who wanted us (and our firearms) to join them, however i had previously known their leader ...an old friend and they let us go on our way, guns and all.
