M. Night Shyamalan : The Happening

Discussion in 'LSD - Acid Trips' started by Deleted member 50876, Jun 14, 2008.

  1. I just returned from seeing this movie and was truly amazed. It could have been because I just finished a strong LSD trip, but the relevance to psychotropic plants had me very intrigued. It was amazing, and I think it had a very interesting significance. I just had to see what others who have seen it thought of the movie. More so psychedelic users :D

it actually looked like a parody of M. Nights last few movies to me. You know, how they have gotten more and more ambiguous and messagey. I actually thought it was a joke the first time I saw the trailer. I mean, the title has to be a joke, the happening? Could you be any more vague? How about The Event? Or, One Day?

That M Knight Schmuck guy produces nothing but garbage, even by the current all time low standards in cinema.I saw one of his movies and we walked out.And I've been told the movie I walked out on was his best one.Heres a tip, start viewing the older movies, especially movies made before the early 1980s.Back in the days when they knew how to make good cinema, this M Knight would be parking cars.

  9. You fail to mention the name of the movie you walked out of? This opinion seems useless to me, especially coming from a 55 year old. Times change. So does cinema. You also have not seen the movie, and behind each of M. Night Shyamalans movies lies a deep meaning only some are open minded enough to pick up on. I'm sorry you feel this way, but I also expect it due to your age and biased view on old cinema before my, and most of those who replied here's time. Thanks for the "tip" though..

I liked The Sixth Sense, but The Village was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. There were so many gaping plot holes, I felt like my intelligence was being insulted. I haven't seen any of his movies since.

He had one big hit. It was well-written and the production was excellent. That - along with his silly name - made him a "Hollywood Sensation". For many screenwriters (and other show biz folks), becoming a "Hollywood Sensation" means no longer having to think while working. M isn't the first to begin hacking out pieces of cinematic phleghm after making it big, and he won't be the last.
