who else is it their fav music?
i feel kinda weird cause it's 80 percent of what i listen to and its a hippy forum. lol.

 

I listen to rap.

Not so much these days, but last year it was 90% what I'd listen to.

my favourites were Bizzy Bone, Eazy-E, Immortal Technique, MC Ren & Flesh-n-Bone

 

Hip hop/rap actually is more progressive then a lot of "hippy" music.


My favs. are talib, nas, IT, universal balance, illogik, 3 6 mafia, wu, rza, common, mos def...... so many more but its mostly what i listen to

 

I'm not much of a rap person i'm more of a country girl. I feel weird sometimes here to since i'm not a fan of most hippie music though.

 

I don't think a single song in my iTunes could be considered "hippie music"

I know a DJ and I can get some of the hottest RAP out there.. But I really dont listen to it much myself.. So all the stuff I have on cd I couldnt even tell you who it or what it is...

i like old east coast rap... nas, wu-tang, rakim, etc
that's what i grew up on, and still listen to it.
but there is so much more great music out there, i fell bad for people who keep their minds closed to rap. especially that soulja boy bullshit, no offense to all those 'silly' peeps out there

Yeah, I'm always a bit hesitant to tell someone I listen to rap, just because I know they'll immediately associate that with people like Soulja Boy and think thats the shit I listen to

 

for sure. but for every kinda genre there is a bad artist. just more so with rap/hip-hop
of the top of my head, 1,324,632 insanely bad rappers come to mind.
half of them tried to sell me their cd on the bus ride home

 

people are a bunch of dumbass that think rap is what's on the radio or popular when there is QUALITY stuff out there.

Really good shit. Other than that I like Madlib and his multiple aliases. Combined it's called the Madlib invasion. It's like Supreme Team, Lootpack, Quasimoto, Yesterday's New Quintet, Beat Konducta, DJ Rels, and more!

Also you have to Love MF Doom!!! formerly Zev Love X of KMD in the early 90s.
No he has a Metal Face, and all his rhymes so real.

Rap is extremely far from being my favorite genre of music. It is one of those genres that has way too much shitty music to counter a few select good artists.

 

I can't stand hip hop. I can listen to most types of music, but I can't stand that "gangsta" shit...

 

I can't stand it either.

But I don't like whiny white boys either.

P.S. I actually like SOME Wu Tang. But too much of that stuff isn't good for ya.

 

mf doom is good writer, his flow is kinda choppy but the allusions, metaphors and what not are amazing. i heard he makes all his own stuff, too.
madlib is purdy dope, gotsa my vote.

 

Dizzee Rascal is cool, but I don't like rap/hip-hop all that much.
