I was carded in front of my building (I was smoking a cigarette) and had the cops come to my door and see a piece of mail with my address on it. Granted, no big deal. But I think technically they would have to have had a specific call to do this. I don't know. Ugh.
No your civil rights were not violated (although it might feel that way) No, you were simply profiled Hotwater
You know when you get that creepy feeling something is just not right... I complied, but mostly because they caught me by surprise. "There are a lot of burglaries in the area", they said. Which is sheer bullshit. In this neighborhood you can sleep with your door open, and I have.
I think even though it feels not right, it is better to go with the flow and appease people if it will make them go away, yes? thats what I do more often than not. but Im sorry this happened, monsieur.
What ? I don't understand this. Yes your rights were violated. You were violated. What was a pig doing looking at your mail ? I don't get it. Down with the pigs. Smoke on. Peace
Life goes on, mademoiselle. But I think I'm well within my right to say no to them. Unless they have a warranty or a call with my description in the area, they can't force me to.
Oh, please. Dont call them pigs. Even if in character some are, they are also people doing a job. And seriously, thank god for cops. Theres been times when Ive NEEDED one for safety.
That's the other thing, the guy writes my address down and walks away. WTF? Usually they make you wait until they run the check on your ID. Ugh.
Merci ma belle Fitz, in retrospect that's what I would have done but it was so unexpected I vacillated.
Thats all police ever say...There have been a lot of burglaries in the area. They said that to me on a street that just had a school on it and I just looked at him funny. Cops are a bunch of goofballs.
I'm now watching the ripples of fear wash to the background and the ripples of anger taking foreground.
