Im hoping that whole conversation was just jokes...not that I am offended, just that I found it kind of sad...like someone else said...."Americas Youth..."
Everything I was ever taught about India in school was basically..very off point, very misrepresented...or just straight up fuckin wrong. I hope you are teaching him correct things about why there is a caste system in India, the reasons behind it, and how it is really no different than our own country but everyone likes to act like it is, lol.

Yeah, it's not that school has taught him nonsense about India, it's just this is the first time he is learning about it, so his ignorance is simply because he has literally learned nothing about the subject yet. And YES, I am actually teaching him real things, we just fuck around with each other though to make things more fun. He's a really smart kid and respectful but again, he likes to joke with me.

Is he doing a report on India? Or the Caste system....?

I would have loved to get a report on either one when I was in the 5th grade....then again I think that public schools in TN come in 48th in the nation when it comes to public schooling...ugh.

Soooo, now I work with a 4th grader now, and he totally blew my mind today. Firsst off, he's autistic, so he's always in his little world. He and I were outside, I was drawing pokemon with chalk and just hanging out. And then he runs from behind me and turns on a bubble machine and screams: "If the bubbles hit you, you'll get the death disease!!!" so I thought I was being clever and started round-house kicking the bubbles and fighting but that was a wrong move apparently, as I quickly was tackles and I "died". Then, the part that made lightbulbs turn on in my head, he came over and rubbed me and pretend to inject me with something, and I go "What is that? Medicine?" and he goes "No, it's the life disease. We're all sick with it". Just super matter of fact. I've been replaying that in my head for the past few hours. I want this kid to teach a philosophy course at my school, haha.

Its like one phrase that could provoke some amazing conversations, or you could let your mind wander with it and probably make up some awesome stories involving it if that makes any sense.

It totally makes sense. I'm just trying to wrap my head around a lot of the things he does all the time that are just normal to him. He's literally always in his own little world and I would give anything to just see out of his eyes and with his mind for a minute.

OP: That made me pretty upset because there are definitely kids today that are as stubborn and ignorant as he is. Teach him well and make sure that he doesn't turn into a kid that knows nothing outside of the world on his computer game.
