    Fire rules all.

Don't get me wrong, I love leds in socks or flowlights and they're obviously a lot less limiting than fire but it can be hard to track down good led's that won't break after they've taken a bit of abuse. Glow in a black light setting with good costuming can be really striking too.

...but none of it beats the rush of fire.

I like the look of LED poi but the sound of fire poi. I also don't really want somebody who is "just learning" lighting little balls on fire anywhere near me and then whirling them at high speed. Getting hit by an errant LED would bum me out. Being hit by a small flaming meteor...mmmm.... not so good.

Either or, though fire does seem abit more interesting just because I love fire

I've only just got to grips with my flag poi, so the next stop will be LED, little bit scard of fire poi...

Haha. No doubt. But I don't think anyone here was advocating that n00bs should play with fire.

I got a fantastic pair of counter-weighted socks a few weeks back and I'm loving them. The weight is so perfect that after a year of struggling with isolations, I finally got them (and a variety of iso variations) solid within 5 mins of spinning these puppies. Did my first fire iso's last weekend! Airwraps are getting closer! Been awhile since I learned and nailed something new.

Shout out to the glowstringers too! Not quite my style but damn they can be technically impressive.

Ny: What kind of flags are you learning with? Are they big? I've got tailed poi that I found weren't very good for learning with 'cause there's a lot of extra material that got in the way of some of the "windows" where your arm(or poi) move through. IMO socks are the best for learning and the cheapest thing to come across as well!

SpinSpinSpinSpinSpinSpinSpinSpin. Damn I love my hobby! :hat:

Sorry for the huge picture-ness but that's them. I've only just got the 3 beat weave, or a version of it anyway...
