    so last night was graduation.
went to a HUGE party. like 150-200 kids.
bonfire in the desert, vodka and keystone light by the barrel, "ecstacy" rollino out of people's palms...
i don't see how things got so out of hand.
so, my good friend, who brought me, announces to a few friends and i that he's gonna take his girlfriend home.
don't leave me here motherfucker, is all i could say.
so all the kids are dancing around, talkin and drinking. most kids are on that bunk ecstacy.
thats when i hear a bunch of bottles break and see some kid in a car window!
i was like wtf is going on, so i run over there and this other kid starts beating the shit out of him, like smashing his head in the broken glass.
i started yelling for some help in pullin this big oaf of the kid.
all the people are standing around like a doe in the headlights.
i'm yellin wtf is wrong with you people?!?
and finally a few of my friends help me stop this shit.
so, for the next twenty minutes, two more fights break out and there is a lot of yelling.
since there is so many drunk people here, some i hadn't seen in years, i decided the smartest thing to do was pack the bowl and wait for my ride.
one hit in, richard shows up. i tell 'em whats been going on.
nobody there was mad about anything realistic, so we round up the troops and head out.
so we get out of the box canyon to where about 25-30 cars are parked.
what do we see? every window smashed out and every car ransacked.
i try to deter anger and violence at all costs.
but the kid i tried to help is the one who smashed out the windows!
i was like damn, damn. this kid is gonna get it. there is nothing i can do, because everyone, even the semi-peaceful people are pissed.
so, like 15 of us decide to go this kids house.
    we get there.
    bricks start flying.
every window on his house and car were smashed through while kids are yelling for him to come out.
and today i wake up with a wicked hangover.
recounting all of the past nights events, i remember why i stopped going to party like that.
people cannot seem to control themselves, problems arise from nothing and potentially great times are ruined.
seeing all that unguided anger and violence was truly a let down, as far as my peers and the future.

All too well... everyone knows everyone and there are the requisite cliques... you can't avoid anyone... or their personal baggage, grudges, odor...

There was no mall in my town... just an abundance of rocks to throw at cars, windows, people... cheap beer and the old bridge we'd built a huge smoky driftwood and tire fueled bonfire under (on a riverbank). Liquor stores closed at 1am so as long as you had money running out was not a huge problem though it was a drive to restock... and drunken driving wasn't nearly as dangerous in those days lol. There weren't enough of us to make a very big mob and the faint smell of burning rubber held the assurance that we weren't getting into too much trouble so cops were rarely called... and we'd just be told to put out the fire and disperse if they were... and fishing licenses would be checked as there would usually be a couple lines in the water at least- we'd disperse to another place.. old train trestle or a friend's house to renew party activities. Those were the daze.

I don't think there is much difference between small towns anywhere (in the western world). Kids grow up with nothing to do, make up their own activities, which include discovering what the boundaries to their actions are. Usually with a lot of chaos... lol

    as for

"i don't see how things got so out of hand."

    150-200 people... alcohol....

Doesn't seem to be very hard for me to figure out how things got out of hand.

This is exactly why i don't go to parties anymore... guys are crazy,, start beating everyone up.
Girls go nuts about cheating boyfriends and stuff.. i dont even know what to think anymore. like u said, there's no self control.

Ah, I know exactly how it is!
Shit like this happens a lot in my area.. I try to stay away from it though
That's the best thing you can do. I never go to big parties in my town, just for that reason.
