out of play-doh. Took about an hour. There's only one problem. The legs aren't supporting the body. I'm thinking of sculpting a chair/stool for her to sit in, but that wasn't in my original vision. Very disappointing. Any ideas???????????
i can't see the pics either but if it looks the way i think it does, try inserting toothpicks halfway into the tops of the legs(running through the legs, like bones) then insert the exposed toothpick ends into her abdomen. it'll probably work and no one will know that they're there. also possibly make the bases of the feet wider for more even support
she dried pretty stable overnight and I think that I can put her in the oven later today. thanks for the tips though, vague. p.s. if you want to see a couple of pics, look in my artwork album.
thank you lizzie and ws. unfortunately, i took the cup away from the backside of the sculpture(it was holding her up) and slowly but surely, she tipped all the way backwards. no damage or anything though... i dunno what I'm going to do. I might put it on a cookie sheet and prop it up with a pan or something and bake it. also i have no toothpicks. i really didn't think this one through. haha
Might be a little late, but you could use tinfoil or pipe cleaners to make a kind of skeleton wherever it needs support, but it might need a little resculpting for that. I love your hospitalized watermelon by the way. Good Luck! :seeya:
haha, thank you. it's one of my favorite pieces. unfortunately guys, the little lady fell apart on my kitchen counter while i was out to dinner earlier tonight. oh well. learned my lesson i guess. note to self: must plan this stuff out better next time...
