Storing weed

Sorry if there is a thread about this, I search and search could not find one. How long could you keep weed. If you kept it in a pill bottle? For a long time

THC breaks down over time. If it is stored air-tight, and in a cool, light-tight place, it will degrade slower....but it will still degrade over time. Mold and fungus growth can also be a problem, just as it would storing any plant material.

You time frame will vary depending on how it is stored, but 6 months to a year is probably pushing it.

 

I was thinking a couple of months.

 

cause I want to make it last for a long while, cause I on meds, and won't be smoking like I used too.

 

cause a pill bottle is air tight. right? I have a old pill bottle. and it still smells like pot.

 

If you can vacuum seal it, you'll be better off. If you bake it into goodies, you'll be much better off (put em in the freezer). A couple of months doesn't sound worrisome to me. You might need to toss an orange peel in there when your ready to smoke it to freshen it up a bit, but I'd still smoke it.

it will get stale and stuff but how much are you going to need to keep it stored away for years?

 

not for years. just awhile. like 2 months maybe, I still plan to smoke on my meds. Just not get blown out

 

i vacuum seal my weed in a mason jar and put it in the bottom drawer of my fridge...been in there for a year now (big harvest, and don't smoke large volumes). it's as good as the day i cut the plant down. each time i need a new bud i release the vacuum, grab one, and re-vacuum the jar.
