Why is McCain receiving $58,000 a year in disability payments?

Maybe some commentator should ask him why he receives a disability pension after being reinstated? Think anyone will? Does he have a new condition, is it pschological?

 

"gardener" I agree,the democrats suck now too.I certainly am no fan of Obama either.Each party just caters to lobbyists etc.And the democrats in congress are nothing short of pathetic,they are as bad as the republicans.There are no public servants anymore.

Having not read said articles, I can say anyway that I think this is rather appauling. Physical handicaps, yes FDR was in a wheelchair. But, it was mentioned McCain claimed mental issues surrounding his captivity? If that's the case, haven't other politicians had to step down from their duties due to mental stress/issues? I can't remember the name, but something rings a bell with this rather recently.

Anyway, sorry - I need to read more before I can really comment.

 

I have nothing that points to McCain being mentally impaired, but since he was physically able to be reinstated as a pilot, I have to ask why he is receiving disability pay.

I was told when I broke my leg during my work in agriculture, that I could find a job in Photomat booth, thus I was not disabled, I find the fact that a qualified pilot can not find other work a mystery especially since he's drawing a Senate salary.

He can raise his hands above his shoulders, when his handlers aren't watching. I want to see more pictures. Come on everyone. Post your pictures.

 

Evidently, he's recieving it because he's some sort of 'sacred cow'? Even if he is truly disabled - I'd think with his wealth he'd forgo the monies and donate them to other vets that aren't recieving their fair share for more horrendous and life alterning disabilities.

My DH is a vet, and he was classified disabled due to an injury to his elbow joint. He's got a deep dent where there should be none, and the army in all their brilliance wanted to cut his arm off. It was the 'recommended option", but he wouldn't sign the papers for the procedure. He opted to rehabilitate his own person. He gets about 190.00 a month from the Army for this. Winter comes and his fingers turn blue on that arm. But at least he's still got it.

 

Um. Didn't he get shot in the mouth or something while serving in the US military?

McCain sustained broken arms and legs from ejecting from his plane. I've never heard anything about him being shot. His chubby cheeks are genetic or the result of his melanoma surgery not caused by injury or insult as the result of heroic service.
