shit, last night something scary happened to me...even though it didn't end too badly. my friend and i were on our way to buy some weed, and we had to run a few errands (get money, gas, cigs, etc.) before we had to meet up with this kid. also, this kid was trying to make it to a movie on time, so we were kinda in a hurry. so we're rushin around trying to get there, and i'm driving, and keep in mind i have a near perfect driving record. it was about 11:45 at night, and i was pretty much the only car driving (i live in the heart of suburbia, so all of the wholsome families were in tucking there kids in bed). anyway, i came to a four way stop, and there weren't any cars around, so i didn't need to stop for eight hours. but i did stop the car (even if it wasn't for three seconds or whatever) and i turned on the highway. the next thing i know, the lights are behind me and i get pulled over for "blowing a stop sign," which is bullshit because i did stop. keep in mind, my friend and i were shitting ourselves, because i had pot on me, including a pipe, and other various paraphanalia. fortunately, i didn't smoke before i left, even though i was seriously considering it. the cop had no inclination that i had pot on me, so that wasn't an issue or anything. but still...it scared us pretty badly, since we were on our way to make a drug deal. even though i hate cops, i must say that he was very respectful and not in anyway an asshole. unfortunately, i got a 108 dollar fine, and 3 points. i'm considering contesting it, however i don't know if i want to pay extra court costs if i lose. also, i'm pretty sure that cops are supposed to leave their parking lights on at night when they're trying to catch people, otherwise it's entrapment (correct me if i'm wrong). also, it was foggy as shit last night...i could hardly see, actually, it was almost as bad as a whiteout in a blizzard, so it's debatable whether or not he could see either...idk. it was kinda funny though, because my friend is 7 months pregnant, and as soon as i pulled over, her face went sheet white and the baby dropped on her bladder, which was funny because she really thought she would piss herself lol. anyway...what do you guys think? do you think it's worth contesting? i still haven't decided yet...
yea its not worth it, the cop might hve been a narcotics officer profilling you and saw two girls in a car latre a night and then saw yur friend was pregnat and was like these girls cant get into any trouble, ones alredy pregnat. i also have a similar story. i was with three other friends and we were driving in trenton and were from pa so we had dropped two guys off and now there is four people in the car the bridge we normally take was backed up so we cut through trneton to get to another bridge, my one frined has 5grams on him and a pipe, my other friend has 1.5, and the other frined had a 2 ft bong in the trunk, loaded with resine. so we see a silver crown vic following us and we realize it is an undercover cop cuz we saw the lights in the grill. so we freak out cuz we committed a federal crime, we brought weed across state borders so if we were pulled over we were gonna be arrested and fucked(my parents didnt even know where i was at the time) so we have to keep driving within the law so we dont get pulled over, we did have too many people in the car(only 1 for under 18) but that wasnt a primary offense. so we luckily get put to the bridge and get away( he was driving a mercedes, so the cop might have thought he was a drug dealer, white mercedes in trenton with a young kid behind the wheel looks some what suspicous. but we got away.
never heard that before about the parking lots...I know plenty of areas in town where cops sit without prking lights on. But I do know people, especially on this site, don't understand entrapment but think that they always get to cry entrapment to save their asses.
ive heard the parking light thing for years but i dont think there is any validity to it.. rarely if ever do i see them sitting with there parking lights on while doing traffic enforcement..
In my understanding, for a cop to be guilty of entrapment, he has to entice you into committing a crime or give you an opportunity that you otherwise would not have had to break the law. Therefore, the cop not having his parking lights on wouldn't count as entrapment.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrapment For people interested in finding out what entrapment is before they say something was entrapment. But about the topic, just pay the fine and except the small loss. EDIT: I just thought up a good way to explain entrapment. I'm pretty stoned though, so sorry if this is incorrect. It wouldn't be entrapment if you sold to an undercover cop posing as someone interested in weed. But if that undercover cop were to call you at your house and asked you to meet him somewhere to sell him a sack, that would be entrapment.
nope that still isn't entrapment...you were willing to do it...he didn't trap you into selling the weed.
i think you should just pay the fine. i dont think its worth going through all the bullshit to try and contest when its only $108... what i want to know is where the hell did he pull 108 from? like how do they decipher what the amount of the fine will be?
would entrapment be if you were stumbling to your car and a cop was watching you and then arrested you when you started the car for dui
that entrapment thing makes sense...like i said, i wasn't sure if it would be or not. either way, it still really sucks anyway you like at it....oh well, i'd rather get a ticket for a stop sign anyday than being busted for weed.
one of my boys kicked me in the stomach during a dinner with an old teacher. my face went white and i was sure i was gonna puke. fetuses are MEAN! anyway, you have a good chance of it being a male cop, so you can hide your shit on your girly parts, and that buys time. ida hid it under my preggo friends boobs.
Not worth fighting cuz if you go to trial (at least in cali) and the jury finds you guilty, you more than likely will get the highest fine they can give you, not to account for the only way you are really going to win an infraction case is if the cop doesnt show up. that's a 50/50 chance. Do they have traffic school? I would pay the fine and be done with it. Oh and make sure you show up in court if not thats a misdemeanor FTA
lol..........cop states to a dui suspect your eyes are red watery and you reek of alcohol have you been drinking........... suspect asks cop..........well, your eyes are glazed, have you been eating doughnuts?
hahahaha oh, and to answer the question about the $108, this is how it breaks up, even though i'm not sure what some of the abbreviations mean, this is what it says on the ticket: fine- 25.00 EMS- 10.00 MCARE- 30.00 Costs- 33.00 J.C.P./A.T.J. - 10.00 Total due: $108.00
