Anyways i just wrote a very lengthy thread about Night terrors, my interpretations of them and one interesting story about one of my night terrors i had when i was younger. And i somehow lost it all so i said screw writing that again. But i was curious if anyone has ever experienced a night terror (not a nightmare, big difference). They usually only happen to young children and are pretty rare. I had them alot when i was younger. Although they were stressful and terrifying i don't feel i would be the same person without them. They gave my some of the most interesting pyschological experiences i probably will ever have. Anyways people post away i am curious to here stories, thoughts or anything about night terrors. And questions as well

you remember your night terrors? most dream researchers say that is not possable... oh well, fuck them. i had night terrors beginning around six years of age. i never rememberd them, but they were quite bad! i would scream and smash things around the bed while still asleep. at about the age of 28, the night terrors started to end and i started to have nightmares instead; i also started to sleepwalk too. i almost always remember my nightmares. i stop sleepwalking about 10 years ago, but when i was sleepwalking i was almost always aware of when i was doing it. i perfere having nightmares over night terrors any day! that is because i can remember my nightmares, and i could never remember my night terrors. i have no doubt that the 30 years of psychothereapy i have had has help me grow through the stages of: night terrors, to nightmares and sleep walking, to the stage i now seem to be entering of dreaming. i agree with you mrshappyO. the night terrors did change my psychology in some ways for the better, and in some ways for the worst. they did help me grow in some quite twisted ways that were mostly for the good in their own twisted good ways!

Well i don't actually remember them i just can recall certain feelings and flashes of what i saw. They were terrible scary, painful and sad. They couldn't even relate to anything i have ever experienced. But im pretty interested hearing you experience. i have never heard of anyone else that has had night terrors. Everyone i tell about it thinks im a freak ha. Or was... I can't believe you had them till you were 28. That torturous. Im sorry. That takes a lot of personal strength. I would probably lose my mind.

i had what my doctor called night terrors. i remember two of them, but i had a lot more than that. the first one was when i was very young. my mom, dad, and brother were all dark silhouettes with glowing green eyes. i saw extremely rapid flashes of random colors taking up my entire vision, and there was a pile of seashells sitting in the bottom right-hand corner of my vision. that's all i remember of that one. the only part of the later one i remember is that i got out of bed and walked through my living room and there was a silver tree with red leaves in my living room. also, the feeling of terror i got during these was very, very similar to the fear i've felt during bad trips. i REALLY wish i knew more about night terrors...
