Obama at last has his bounce after the primaries. He is leading in many demographics that he was losing in before.

Check out the story. He's on a roll now. Time for the Secret Service to close ranks around him...

i just hope Congress can hold Obama down a bit- especially with the 2nd Amendment and Nanny State issues... I can't even imagine how high taxes will climb with both a war in Iraq AND socialized health care... yikes...

Happy days are here again! I want the Republican Party to go the way of the Federalists and the Whig Party. I hate most of what the GOP stands for.

President Obama will have a Democrat Congress that gives him everything he wants.

I want socialized medicine. I also want the Second Amendment to be repealed.

A poll 'now means little. Its only still June. It can change quite quickly. Now,if this poll was 1 or 2 weeks before election day then it would be a more clear indicator that he would probably win. I prefer that Obama win(I think),but no-one should take McCain lightly. And Obama better pick a very credible, good vice president.

    Finally! Very good.
And as to how Obama got there to begin with, it does seem that a majority of America wants change now, that showing from Bush's sh*tty approval rating. Ha. Nobody likes him. :D
    Just kidding. But seriously.
Also, if anyone has been noticing the "peace fad" other than me? Walk around town or in a store, you'll see a bunch of little girls walking around with peace shirts on, flashing the peace sign on their myspace, and everything. Do you think that this has helped Obama? Not that little girls on myspace vote, but, just the mere fact that everyone's mind is set on "peace" in general, and the ending of the war. Of course, so many Americans are unaware of what the war is really all about, they still have it set it their minds to eradicate it and reach closer to peace. It seems as if the commercialism and media are controlling this, though, which therefore only proves how television AND commercialism control the minds of citizens.

Yeah because we all know paying $500 a month for health insurance is way better than a $500 a year increase in our taxes.

I pay 52 dollars a month. I am interested to see who they wish to run this socialized medicine and what the actual bill will be to the tax payers and the related services we will receive. i worry about the quality of services and what will be deemed necessary medical procedures. I think a mixture of private and public facilities are a must or you will never gain the full support the the American people.

If you get your health insurance through your employer, you do not pay $52, you are paying the full amount, it just that your employer calls it a benefit rather than wage. When your employer is figuring out how much it costs them each year to maintain you as an employee, they figure in the cost they pay for your health insurance. Ask yourself this, would you be upset if your employer cut this benefit and would you feel as though they were cutting your pay ?

If you do not get your insurance through your employer and you really are paying $52 a month, then you probably have a huge deductible and crappy coverage, in which case you are probably better off putting the $52 a month aside and saving it for emergencies.

When I was first introduced to Barack, I liked him mainly on the basis of his ethnic background. And being African American myself, I took great pride in the fact that someone that's not a highly controversial civil rights activist or black extremist has come in to the political race to place his bid for the highest office position in the country.

But then as I got to know him over the months, it became more of a fondness for the content of his character, and not the color of his skin (quoted by Dr. Martin Luther King). And I sat back for a while and saw the amount of dislike for him when he began to make sense in his vision for where this great country should be. The media being the main enemy, I recall countless articles and hundreds of hours of political commentaries distorting his views, picking apart and dissecting his personal life, probing his business dealings and the people he associated with, and most importantly - reminding white Americans of his ethnic background: as if they couldn't see it for themselves. All of this to deter them in what appeared to be a subliminal campaign for Hilary and McCain. And you can visually see it on the faces of George Stephanapolus and Charles Gibson when Hilary was ahead in some polls, as it's evident as to who they're voting for. But in the weeks that followed when Obama began to pull away in success with delegates and popular vote, their enthusiasm became less and less apparent.

These days, the possibility of Obama becoming the next president of the United States appears to be a reality. But at the same time, there are large parts of white American society that rejects this notion and would rather vote for McCain - claiming that his "experience" is more important than the termoil this country faces (that McCain fails to acknowledge), and despite being democrats themselves. It's just a reminder to us that regardless of how many of them say they're not prejudice, their actions say otherwise.

that would be amazing. millions of peoplel will be freed from jail and prison for simple marijuana crimes. i would be off probation and able to smoke my ganj and get my good grades back! ahhh.

I suggest everyone go back and look at the early polls for the 1980 presidential election.

    .................................................................................................

Senator Obama has spoken out against federal harassment of medical marijuanna suppliers who are OK with local & state goverment in Santa Barbara, Ca.

I am hoping that the budget deficit becomes so large that they are compelled to legalize grass solely to collect income off its taxes.

My state goverment has no problem corrupting and poluting people with casinos, lotteries and games of chance to raise money? This preys on low income people, Why not ganj?
