this morning i was having a conversation with my dad about my blood pressure cuz it was kinda high last night...and we were standing talking when all of a sudden i got a little queesy so i grabbed my stomach and took a few steps forward..i also got short of breath and started hyper-ventilating...then i got light-headed and my vision started going white and and i fell, passed out on the kitchen floor, and banged my head on the wall..i regained consciousness after a short amount of time and jumped in and out of a cold shower to make myself feel a little better because i felt kinda hot.. after this, we went to the market so i could use one of the blood pressure machine and it was surprisingly only 119/73 (last night it was 146/70) i made a doctors appointment but i'm not sure what could have caused this? i don't think it was a panic attack cuz i don't remember ever getting really nervous or tense or anything...then again, i don't remember much after taking the first few steps forward...apparently i was briefly pacing around trying to say something...whatever it was it freaked me out...pretty scary if it was anything really serious, i'm sure i would have noticed some other symptoms by now...but who knows...
whoa Dude sounds kinda scary.... what did your dad say about this whole thing? i dont think its aything bad.but im not a doc. R u feeling better?
wow, that IS very scary. i have never fainted like that in my life. but i imagine since you experienced it you wouldnt want to again.
wait wait wait, you were talking to your dad while this happened? and he did nothing? i think you need to explain this a little clearer, otherwise your dad is a douchebag
its still anxiety.. you subconsciously were worried about your blood pressure and while talking to your dad about it your body went into panic mode the rush of blood made you light headed.. you probably didn't breathe.. instead panicked even more.. and that made you faint... the hotness was from your adrenaline rushing and pumping blood through your veins... just remember to continue to breathe when you feel these come on.. i have the same problems.. have never fainted but have come extremely close.. my vision will go white.. actually a couple weeks ago i had one while driving down the highway.. i felt at unease the whole ride then i was passing a semi and it hit me.. was scary cuz my vision started to blur and i got light headed and i was able to talk myself out of it quick.. like was there and gone within 20sec
I'd have to agree with joker, from the sound of it. It sounds very similar to the panic attacks I've had. I'm guessing you weren't on anything at the time? Panic attacks can come in all shapes and forms, and there's no way to know for sure what the cause was until you get checked out by a doctor. The thing about panic attacks is that, when there is something wrong with you or you THINK there's something wrong with you, you will start to panic, then the panic will make your symptoms even worse, and it will be like a chain reaction of increasingly severe physical symtoms, and it will continue to get worse and worse until you calm down. It's nothing really serious or life-threatening, but you will feel like you can't breathe, you'll feel like you're dying, and you may pass out; all of which happened to you. Don't worry about it until test results or doctors tell you you should worry about it.
sorry i have no idea what thats about, but i would definitely go to a doctors soon to make sure its nothing serious
me and my dad talked about it for awhile and he was asking me if i've been taking anything or if i was on something and i wasn't..so we went through the possibilities and we aren't even sure because theres so many causes for passing out like that but i'm feeling alot better now so i'll have to wait until i hear what my doctor has to say about it..i'm tempted to assume it was some type of panic attack like you guys have said because it really came out of nowhere..i've felt perfectly fine up until this randomly happened, then afterwards i was short of breath for about an hour or two and then i felt fine again. i still have to catch my breath from time to time but i've had that problem a little for awhile and i think i might have a touch of asthma or something. but no, horace, my dad didn't just stand there and watch lol that would have been pretty fucked up. i freaked him out tho. he said i looked like i dropped dead. at first he thought i was just fucking around with him because of our conversation and then he got scared and didnt know what the hell happened. when i was passed out my eyes were open and everything and i guess i had a really fucked up look on my face.. i woke up on the other side of the kitchen with my dad crouching down next to me asking me if i was alright and i didn't know what the hell happened..at first i didn't even realize i had passed out..really weird shit i'd prefer to not have to experience any of it again
yea.. book a doc visit asap.. he'll start you with probably checking to see if everything is alright with your blood and heart and respiratory.. if that all comes back negative.. set up an appointment with a psych.. he'll know whats up
That souns very similar to what happened to me a couple of times. Did he mention anything about convulsions?
A similar thing happened to me once when I overdosed on pills I looked in the mirror and I turned pale and fell down and woke up like 2 minutes later in a different place and I remembered what happened. All I remember is turning pale then I probably started shaking and my body was convulsing and ended up moving a couple metres. Another reason why I don't pop pills anymore lol I was having a good time till that randomly happened
but one time a similar thing happened to my dad. we had bar-b-q that night and all he had to drink with it was a beer, and he apparently hadn't had water in a while. i remember he stood by the doorway, grabbed the edge, collapsed, and was out for like 1 minute. the dr said it was because of de-hydration. maybe thats what happened to you?
The very fact that you take your blood pressure so often makes me think you may be a bit of a type A personality. A bit high strung, high energy and perhaps a go getting hard charger determined to prove something to someone other than yourself. Or perhaps you were just very, very dehydrated. I've had the same experience three or four times (thankfully none with my pops), and everytime it was a combo of some drugs, not enough food, or not enough water. Lumberjesus
i do this every night i like to call it sleep first things go black then i just knock out and wake up at like the morning time you know nah but for real hope you feel better and don't worry too much about it i have anxiety so i get the same feelings without the blackouts though.
