I've just turned on the charts for the first time in years and got Fatboy Slim, Ian Brown, Groove Armada and a Donny Osmond song co-written by Gary Barlow! What happened to the 21st century?! I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great, but wha?

I thought the same thing. It's crazy. It's also rather worrying the amount of music in the charts I am liking at the moment :p

That's because life was better in the 90s. When Melody Maker folded, the NME stopped making an effort and completely let itself go. Hence them pushing the Strokes et al on us.
