DXM side effect-how to eliminate?

I haven't done DXM in a long time, mainly because of this one trip I had with it. I drank a bottle of Zicam Max, and it was neat, except for occasional nausea episodes where I felt like I was gonna puke, and this feeling like I was burning from the inside out. I know how to counteract nausea now, but the burning thing I don't understand. It never happened with the syrups, I was thinking it was because it was such a concentrated dose.

Has anyone ever experienced this and/or know how to get rid of it?

It only happened in the first 1-2 hours, but it still just killed the whole trip, that and the nausea, especially since each minute felt like an hour.

 

I've made a shots worth of liquid from two bottles of large cough syrup (thats 900-1000mg's in a shot glass) and never had a pro9blem with burning. I do, however, get extremely nauseous and projectile vomit before I trip. I'm thinking that has something to do with naphtha or ammonia getting into the final product as pure DXM HBr powder has never even made me nauseous.

I'm thinking your problems are directly related to Zicam Max and whatever is in it.

If you really want a pure experience with as few side effects as possible I'd suggest either extracting it from the cough syrup or finding a supplier for powder. You could always try using Robitussin cough gels. I can't swallow a ton of those things though.

 

Yeah I was thinking it was something in that too because I tried with way less & I still got sick & no high until much later. After that I was afraid to even venture into the 400mg range again though.

 

Best guess us that it was heart burn. Or would be at least be treatable with pepcid and tums. Take one pepcid and have some tums handy just in case.

*not that I support DXM use. Yuck.

 

the one time i tried zicam i was luckily chilling in a park, then after about an hour i wandered into the street and puked everywhere and was sober after that. must be something they add to it to make you want to puke. i would go with the agent lemon extraction or the delsym extraction snoc posted.

Just wondering, what exactly did you do to counteract the nausea? I absolutely hate beiing nauseous, and I would much appreciate any advice on getting rid of the urge to puke. Both times i've used robitussin coughgels, 15 mgs each, at 225 mgs and 150 mgs. Is the Deslym extraction something that will eliminate nausea?

The Desylm extraction just enables you to ingest the PURE DXM and none of the syrup, which most of the time is the cause of nausea.

But if you are just drinking the syrup I'd take a couple of Benedryls about a half hour prior to drinking the DXM syrup. Also make sure it's PURE DXM Hbr.

dude i thought i was the only one. describe the burning sensation to me. does the feeling run throughout your entire body and feel somewhat like pins and needles as well? does it even go to the roots of your teeth (hard to describe)? has it at times been so unbearable that you freaked out, ripped all your clothes off, and jumped in a cold shower?

but, i too, stopped using DXM because of this...

 

Yeah, it was throughout my entire body, like I was literally burning from the inside out. I thought I was gonna die, but I realized I wasn't after it happened a couple times, & that I hadn't taken enough to OD but it's still extremely unpleasant.

 

I can't bring myself to drink the syrup, it jsut tastes too bad. I use the robitussin coughgels, I dunno if I mentioned that before. So a benadryl will help? That's great news, because I really like the stuff, I just can't stand the nausea. Thanks, you made my day!

I have recently begun experiencing burning during DXM as well. I know exactly what you mean, it's a horrible, druggy, dirty, chemically burning like your entire body inside is irritated by the potion. It ruins the trip completely for me as well.
