I have always liked the look of wooden pipes and i recently noticed a tobbaconist around the corner that sells wooden pipes. I always assumed that because you have to constanly relight weed in a pipe that you couldnt use wood because it would get way to hot, is this the case? any tips advice? edd.
My friend had a wooden pipe that he made in shop class, lol. I liked using it, it worked really good and looked neat, but like joker said you inhale smoke from the wood.. not good.
wooden pipes can be nice. as long as there arent any harmful chemical finishes on the pipe then I'm sure it would be fine. I like making chillums out of bamboo. I would suggest getting a pipe with a natural finish like beeswax. If you are interested in high end wooden pipes you should look into briar pipes. They are pipes carved out of ultra hard knots of oak trees i think. Wooden pipes can be nice to smoke out of sometimes, and its true that they can be versatile and have some very nice designs (and fat bowls) but, as always, my preference lies with glass.
that reminds me theres a shop in london called dunhill were they have a £60,000 ($120,000) pipe made out of mammoth tusk. lols.
:haha: Guys, stop buying flammable wooden pipes. Spend a little more and get one that you can actually smoke stuff in, like a real tobacco pipe. I have always and only smoked this way, unless it's possible to bong it. This method will destroy you.
^Thats pretty sweet dude, mines a lot smaller. But tell me: Does it taste alright? Mine tastes quite strongly of bamboo, even after sterilizing it with Listerine, the taste isnt pleasnt. Or will this dissapear over time?
oh thats not mine. I pulled that off a RooR gallery. I would advise against putting listerine on bamboo... that might end up a bad taste. wood absorbs that stuff. annd you dont wanna be smokin' listerine EDIT: Bamboo pipes or bongs aren't meant to last long, just dont expect to be using the same piece from bamboo a few years from now... they deteriorate, and burn. and if you really don't want that bambooey taste... then dont make a device of bamboo
