That is my point, once you have seen a few scenes, you have seen them all.
Sex should be stimulating not a major turn off.

I think this is why alot of people like porn so mutch, ... because it's not 'average', because it shows people what sex 'could' be like (assuming they're physically able) if they could confront their inhibitions about it ... no more of the same old missionary position every tuesday and friday, year in year out. As we have seen ... people want it all sorts of ways.
But i agree with you wholeheartedly, sex without love and friendship is an empty experience (unless you're a pornstar i guess). Sex needs to be based on love, and relationships need to be based on friendship.
Just this last weekend i stayed over at a friends place and a girl i'd only met that evening was staying also. In the middle of the night she got into my bed with me wanting sex. I said to her "But i don't even know you." Anyway she finally accepted a night of cuddles and i think we both left the next morning with our self esteem intact because of it.
I think underneath the surface, people really just want love (i know i do)...and sex seems to be their way of going about getting it, but the upshot is they become dependent on it.

Just slower and with a little modicom of respect. So, maybe the first truth is thwarted by the second truth. Like you say: an empty experience if not with a basis in love and friendship. In my book, hand in hand with a touch of respect.

You could well have had some meaningless sex if you wanted, and maybe you were the better man for turning it down. I don't know how many people like you there are. I do agree people want love. Even if it may seem sex can be just that, hardcore sex. Just porn seems to devalue the whole process, in its goal of entertaining us. Which is a shame.

I think we are all exploited in one way or another ...porn is just a single case. We exploit ourselves through our ignorance.
In the days before the internet porn boom i think it possible that a helluva lot of girls in porn were cajoled, coerced, manipulated and lied to.
These days it's as if you can 'be a star' by being a porn actress and i think most girls, ...at least in western europe and north america WANT to be pornstars ... for the shock factor, prestige (eh!?) ...and money and a party lifestyle. But i'm sure in some of eastern europe and beyond, hard exploitation is rife.
This is the problem with porn ...some of it is absolutely fine and consentual, and some of it is absolutely not. How can we tell which is which? We can't so i guess we need to make a decision.
