Should I feel bad for laughing at that? My dad used to tell me I was adopted. I am proud of her.

Thats what I think to. Sometimes things just work out themselves to. I used to not like my father very much and i've grown to love him dearly.

My aunt loves to gossip. Sometimes its just like how do you know all this stuff? Do you have spies or something. I'm a hypocrite though because I love to listen to it.

lmfao.........I laugh at this all the time its quite the joke actually that my friends and I laugh at quite often.

although in my daughter's eyes it really wasnt so funny. She is now 19 and has nothing to do with him, his loss i spose.

its good that you are proud of her. My dad has been an alcoholic most of my life and refuses to do anthing about it and everyone has tried and tried again to do something, but like the saying goes, he has to want help to get help.

I dont know what's growing up with an alcoholic mother, but at least she realized how it was affecting her, you, and decided to change for the better. Be happy that she has been sober for a year. If I was you I would even tell her that you appreciate how she is now, sometimes people need to hear these kind of things. Some people go on all of their lives having a drinking problem, without even being honest to themselves about it, so dont be hard on your mother, she has opened her eyes and forgiveness is always a good thing.

my mom was (probably still is) an alcoholic as well. it sucks, i know, and i'm just now opening myself up to dealing with the abandonment issues i have with my parents, and why i still feel hurt about the things that happened so long ago. so i don't have any advice.

be happy that you have a mother. my friend's mom died while they were still fighting, and now hes really messed up. my step dad is an alcoholic, so i know how frustrating it can be, but you have to tell yourself that it's the disease talking, not your mom. you cant be mad at her for having a disease.

It's hard, i know what it's like. That is exactly me and my fathers relationship for the drinking, and the abuse he placed on my family. I want to forgive him but its really hard. I know what it feels like. Hopefully one day it wont be so bad.
