Wishful thinking I guess.Actually what I'm refering to is an incident I read about years ago about somebody smoking a joint in the booth and they couldn't legally enter the booth and take him.I could use getting my memory refreshed on this one,but thats the jest of it.In the meantime I'm just going to picture everyone naked ...

The reason that the wrong people have had control forever is that the only people who would be GOOD to have in places of power realize the fallacy of being at the head of an all-reaching mechanism of control over people. Also, the ethics that would help such a person be a positive force in the world would have to be sacrificed for them to get there in the first place, and anyone willing to do so isn't that person. And this would have to be the Third Great Awakening, since the first was in . . . 1750s... era.... sort of maybe... and the Second Great Awakening was in the 1850s. But I don't think we really want one of those anyway, since while the good part is the increased awareness for moral and social crusades and action, they're rooted in a return to the traditional Christian ideals, like fiery sermons and encouraged temperance. But the pendulem still swings, albeit in an off kilter fashion, and it's coming back to refocus our generation on social action, etc., after the self-centered tendencies of the past few decades.
good god man! i think you've got it. i've been goin stir crazy for years waitin for these times to get here. we are on the verge of legalized freedom.
