Do we need a separate forum on the brutal practise of circumcision?

There is a person here, whose name I will not mention, who obsesses about circumcision.

He was circumcized and clearly traumatized because of it.

The only thing he does in this forum is start the same type of message over and over again, defending genital mutilation.

So I ask you, and the moderation: do we need a separate forum for people who want to discuss circumcision, their traumas, etc...?

I don't think we need a separate forum...what we need is for people to stop obsessing over one issue.

If that's how you feel about the issue, then fine. But after a while, you've made your point and people are less likely to listen to you.

    John:
You're being quite preachy yourself. I have no interest in talking about my "traumas" and I'm certainly not psychologically disturbed as a result of circumcision. Circumcising infants may not be ethical, but that's no reason to pity, look down, or make assumptions about uponcircumcised individuals.

I don't deny the importance of the issue, but everyone needs to calm down and quit being overly defensive (or obsesssive) about it. How about putting one circumcision thread here, and one in the ethics forum? Perhaps he moderators could sticky them. That would be sufficient. Any talk about circumcision outside these threads would have to be specifically related to the thread topic.

This is a "when did you stop beating your wife" poll...

There is no traumatized person here - I just resent arguments that don't go beyond punching someone with opposing views in the balls. It is sort of like Barack Obama (me) v John McCain (you).
