It's a 27' Hunter with a 1 cylinder deisel engine and a 4'3" lead keel. I don't know how to sail yet that's why i'm looking for an apt captain to show me a thing or two and the benefits would be an adventure ! I'm needing for that person to be a vegetarian...sorry, but that's the way i am.
What kind of trip are you making? Time span, destination, stops, etc. I have sailed up the east coast before, and really need something cool like this. Time is the only issue.
I've sailed before in the Gulf Of Mexico. It was a similar to your vessel. I am no captain but do know my way around a ship. Message me if you are interested. I'm a veggie as well.
Sorry man, but a Hunter 27 is totally unsuitable for an Amazon excursion. The draft is too deep for anything but the estuary, there's no wind for actual sailing and the one cylinder kicker wouldn't last long with that much use. If it did you wouldn't be able to carry enough fuel to go far, you do know it's 4200 miles, right? Trade it for one of these: http://www.towndock.net/shipping/2004_07_01_shiparchive.html And I'll take you as deep into the Amazon as you want to go. In comfort and style on a diet of fresh fish, wild banana and rice. A Hunter 27 would be better suited to cruising the Bahamas, taking the Gulf of Mexico south to the Panama Canal, sailing up the west coast to Alaska, then a nice sail to Hawai, Tahiti and eventually Australia. In which case I'm still with you.
I'm in for it... I was personally thinking of buying a boat and doing the great lakes, but your idea sounds just as good. Veggie if needed, and a sailor... def not a captain though,
Sounds like fun, dono shit about sailing though . You can hit me up if you need a pilot for something though.
