For the same reasons that non-Feminists support (or oppose) gun control.

I believe the factors are more in favour of opposing gun control from the perspective of a feminist. A major cause of inequality is the fact that women are targeted more often than men by criminals, guns are a great equaliser so if anything feminists should be supporting mandatory gun training and ownership. What am I missing?
"i don't support gun control. i think they're just afraid of guns, personally."
    Why are they so fearful?

because a great deal of feminism is basically symbolism over substance as is the case with most political issues. A kool-aid drinker is a Kool-aid drinker. They will tote a line no matter what sense it makes.

    ^^ Amen.

"Violence is more of a problem for women than men."
"Gun violence is more lethal than non-gun variety."
"Therefore, guns are bad for women."

That argument is flawed, but its not clear to all feminists.

On the other hand, if a woman isn't trained, carrying a gun won't stop the attack, but will only give a rapist a semi-automatic souvineer of the encounter.

Hehe true that. My wife is well trained in high powered rifles, handguns, and shotguns. She also has immediate access to any one of the fore mentioned at a moments notice and no fear in using them. ;)

I do seriously want to learn how to shoot a gun, I mean I already have two awesome guns (meaning my buff arms) now I just need the real deal...

I am being completely non-sarcastic is saying I do want to learn how to shoot a gun and go hit some targets and all that...

I don't hop on planes silly, I fly them...

I've been thinking for a while about finding somewhere where I can go and shoot one, there's this gun place here that has places to go shoot them.. Would be fun I think, and just in case if I ever do need to shoot a gun, I'd like to know how, that would probably help...I'd love to go clay pigeon shooting...

So you think it is because of a logical fallacy? I think that's probably why aswell, but feminists are quite a conscious group whom think deeply about the subject so there is still quite a big gap. What would be interesting would be to see what confrontations and interactions there have been between pro-gun groups and feminist groups.

"i dunno. i can't figure out the psyche of a huge population of people based on one belief they just happen to have in common. so far as i can tell, anyone i know who's afraid of guns is because they're loud and shoot bullets that can blow their heads off."
Well I know that and maybe I meant why are they so fearful IN GENERAL. You could put the biggest reason or the top 3, or you could join me in my quest to discover the answer.
