i got my tongue pierced yesterday, and ive been keeping it clean rinsing after drinking and eating, i smoked once but rinsed after that too. ive been using crest pro health, the alcohol free mouthwash.

ive got some pus or something white coming from the underneath of my tongue, and i was just wondering what this could possibly be, like an infection already or what??

No thats perfectly normal. I just got my piercing a week ago and my piercer said to expect a lot of that, its just pus. This is just dead white blood cells which are building up. It means your body is trying to heal the wound. Your piercer should have prepared you for this though, shame on the for not doing their job!

    Normal.

If it starts turning green or yellow, then it's getting infected.

Don't worry.........it's next to impossible to develop infection as saliva contains anti-bacterial enzymes............but if you overuse mouthwash with astringent it can neutralize these enzymes...........turning the tongue brown or green........If that happens just lay off the mouthwash......

i believe listerine is the best type of mouthwash to use... diluted 50/50 with water. that's what my piercer told me. certain mouthwashes are bad for your piercing.

you need to use biotene. it reduces bacteria, BUT only once a day. crest pro health isnt good for it.
also do not overcleean it, you'll get thrush!

The average tongue piercing takes 6 weeks to heal. But that's an average. Some people take longer, some take shorter. Any non-alcohol mouthwash will do.

    You could be overcleaning it.
