A man in Missouri was just released after serving 21 months in prison, part of that time was after the "victim" reported the story was fabricated to cover an affair she was having. He was only released when DNA evidence prooved he was inocent.

So he is gonna sue, how much would 21 months of being a jail house bitch, having your name destroyed, loosing your home, job, car, money, dignity, ect worth?

Why have they not jailed the woman and charged her with a serious crime for destroying this guy?

Who is he going to sue ? If it's the state he won't get dick. If it's the chick that fucked him she probably has no money. So he is no doubt fucked any way you look at it.

    Peace

Depends on if the wrongly convicted person had a life out on the streets.. say the guy is a big fuck up.. then the situation may have fixed his sorry ass, If he was nice guy, no criminal record Im sure the ordeal could be tolerated. Whatever kind of moeny he may have lost or employment oppertunities that slipped by, because he was locked up. But I dont think you could sue for the lottery ticket you could of got while in prison. Some compensation. But lets not get carried away.

Would depend on what his life was like before he was incarcerated.

She should go to prison for obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice, etc.

I don't see how it depends on what he did before, or even if he was a complete dickhead. The guy was imprisoned wrongfully on falsified evidence and held there even after the evidence was rescinded. What a balls-up.

As for monetary value, how much is 2 years of your life worth? Priceless, it can never be bought back.

i guess for the statement as to what his life was before he was incarcerated should have been better explained. monetary compensation for loss wages is what I was thinking.

as there is no amount of compensation to give him back for the two years he missed out of his life. (which is actually probably even more months as no one has stated if the 21 months include actual incarceration in prison of if that is including being falsley arrested and going through the legal proccess which could take anywhere from one month to a year with arraignments, pre preliminary hearings, preliminary hearings, another arraignment, motions, readiness and trial dates.

that amount is irreplaceable and no one can determine how much that would be. mental anguish, loss of love by loved ones, etc.......there is no amount that you could actually determine for that.

There really should be a strict law to punish people that falsely accuse someone. And I mean mandatory jail time.As far as how much money 21 months is worth, you cannot put a price on something like that. But if it were me,I'd be looking for 100 million dollars to start, and putting that lady in jail for a long period.

basically, its a time limit that allows them to charge the person with a crime - in this case, perjury.

once that period is over, they no longer can charge the person with the crime.
which is BS...perjury should have no statue of limitations on it
