so i was charged with batery/agravated assault on school official. however i didn't touch him,, ANYWAYS so if the charges are pressed are they goin to want to drug test me? i've heard they do it to anyone who has charges pressed maybe this isn't true can someone help?
I doubt 'they' automatically test kids because they've been charged with a crime. I assume you're under 18 and living in the US? What state?
They can't force you to take a drug test, especially if your incident wasn't drug related. You say you didn't touch the person, but they busted you for some reason ... I wouldn't take the denial route. You can't win this battle. Instead look for sympathy. Get upset (whimper or even cry if you can), and tell them you're hainvg a hard time dealing with your anxiety and it's starting to come out in anger. You just can't seem to control your emotions ... blah blah blah. They love this shit, because it reinforces their prejudices of teenagers as emotional trainwrecks. And they'll take pity on you, trust me. Educators are mooshy bastards, and they LOVE to be right. Hell, do it up right and you might even get some meds out of it!
My best guess is the only way you're getting tested is by your new probation officer (after court). Probably going to be an issue...
but this is my first offense ever do you even think i will get a p.o.? i mean ill probably get unsupervised for sure but i mean a p.o.? i doubt it
shit, where I go to school they'd probably make you see the councelor every day and you'd have to take some stupid anger management or psychiatric session or something if you did that, but that's just my school with all their wierd-ass policies...
if the charge is not for drugs, I don't see how they can put a drug test in there. It depends on the judge if you get a PO but I wouldnt think so. I would bet you get some sort of anger management class or community service. but as has been said it is best to pretend you give a shit and tell them what they want to hear. A judge dosn't care what you think, you a young person in his/her court in their eyes you are already wrong.
I got arrested for "theft under $500" and now I'm on probation for a year. I guess probation in Tennessee automatically includes random drug screens but they haven't actually done it...yet. So it might be the same in New Mexico? To the OP: How did things turn out?
i got charged with non drug related charges and i got drug tested on my first court date before i even was convicted. a month later at my second court date after i was convicted then i was tested again. i got random drug screens for my entire probation period, and my charges weren't even drug related. they can do whatever the hell they want. the law is fucked up.
