I live in Nebraska. Just a few weeks ago, I found a good plant growing in a field. It's 8-10 inches tall but the leaves are only 1 inch long at the most. Lately, the leaves have been turning brown and curling up. So I moved the plant to more fertile soil and it's not growing any better. Mostly it's just the stem left because most of the leaves have fallen off. I water the plant one time in the morning and make sure it isn't being dried out from the sun (Growing outside). I have researched and found out that it will use it's own leaves for nutrition to survive. That's why i switched it to a more fertile soil. If anyone can help me figure out the problem it would be appreciated.
hmm...a conundrum. can you verify that the plant (or stem) is still alive? what kind of plant is it? how often do you water? what kind of light is it getting? how large was the root mass when you transplanted it into the new soil? what kind of soil was it? did you water right after you transplanted? does the plant show any sign of parasite or virus damage? (aside from losing all its leaves) how dry to you let the dirt get before you water again?
