Smoking almost doubles a pregnant woman's chance of having a miscarrage, and woman who smoke also face an increased risk or ectopic pregnancy. Maternal smoking causes an estimated 4600 infant deaths in the United States each year, primarily due to premature delivery and smoking related problems with the placenta, the organ that delivers blood, oxygen, and nutrients to the fetus. Infants whose mothers smoked during pregnancy are also more likely to die from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).
Babies born to mothers who smoke more than two packs a day preform poorly on development test in the first hours of birth when compared with babies of nonsmoking mothers. Children born to woman who smoked during pregnancy are much higher risk of ear infection as well. Later in life, hyperactivity, short attention span, and lower scores on spelling and reading test all occur more frequently with children whose mothers smoked throughout pregnancy than in those born to nonsmoking mothers. Nevertheless, about 14% of pregnant women smoke thought pregnancy.”

FACT: My ex's mom smoked threw the pregnancy and my ex was born premature at 1 lb 9 oz

FACT: If your so damn sure you want to have this fucking child you should do whats right not easy. LIFE is not easy when there is a child in the picture.

FACT: If you can't give up something as simple as smoking ( I quit 6 months ago after 8 years of smoking) and pot ( 1 year clean) you WONT be able to give up the other stuff that your going to have to to be able to afford a child.

Thanks, it just pisses me off when people think they are ready to be a mom but they don't do whats right. Its a moms job to PROTECT their child, not endanger them.

and to top it off i just noticed your 19. you're 19 and you think you're ready to be a mother? you're gonna regret it.

this is a big part of the reason the world is becoming so fucked up today. girls are having babies younger and younger and they think they're ready to be a mother. then the kid grows up fucked up because the mother didn't raise him right. anyone else agree?

 

if smoking is so important to you, you should have just gotten an abortion.

 

I realise you are done with this, but I seriously hope you open your eyes, get a new doctor (because, obviously if your doctor thinks smoke doesnt effect a fetus, he's a fucking moron), and do what's right for that child AND for yourself. Smoking cigarettes does nothing for you. The headaches you're suffering are nicotine-addiction caused, more than likely. Please, for the sake of your child, grow up!
