My mom just found out that i still smoke pot and shes not very happy about it... her main problem is that it is illegal and that i'll go to jail for it. what are some positive things i can tell her to help change her mind?
I'm not a dumbass mom. If you can, use the grades/job to your advantage to play up your responsibility! Umm and be smart about where you keep it...tell her it wont be in your car and stuff like that...if you have/or about to have your own place tell her you'll be wise and not leave shit out...i dont know, thats what i'd start with at least
Medical Marijuana is legal in California. And a few other places I believe. Show her a list of countries that outright ban it compared to countries that don't.
I wouldn't bring it up. She's your mom; it's her job (for lack of a better term) to disapprove. Just keep blazing, don't do anything stupid and she probably won't notice or care.

Well I know if I tried this stunt my parents reactions would have been: "Here's a bag pack your shit and leave if your a responsible adult, but as of now you live in our house under our rules." Tell her it makes you feel happy inside like a big bag of jelly donuts. You should also look into your states laws. I know my moms big thing was if I got caught I would go to jail but then I showed her NYS law says that possession under 27g is only a fine much like a traffic ticket.
Usually not worth the arguement. Most folks won't get past the legality of the issue. Drop it. And....move out, take care of yourself and buy your own car.
Look if you're living with her and she doesn't want it on her property, respect that. Keep it in a car that you bought and you're paying the insurance for which you park on the street. Now, you don't need her approval to go smoke, as you're an adult, but for fucks sake don't let it keep you from earning and saving money. If you can help pay the bills there shouldnt be any problems.
I mean mom's right, it is illegal, chances are she's not gonna budge on that issue. You could just tell them you quit and be very cautious when you toke, but if you feel bad about lying to your parents, just get your own car and keep it in there (although that IS dangerous). Better yet, find a few buddies and get an apartment; you get to smoke ganja whenever you choose, and you'll get some good life experience by living alone!
just tell her you're not stupid about it and you're not gonna get caught...also, like someone else said, look into your state law to see what it says. not all places have mere fines for low amounts tho. where i live, it's always a charge. however under 4 grams is a misdemeanor and anything 4 grams or above is a felony.
I agree with this statement! My mom knows and I just told her I quit. More then anything she just wants to make sure I stay focused on life and not become a "lazy druggie with a record." Tell her you don't smoke no more and just do what it takes to make yourself happy. At 18 years old you should focus on what makes you happy. Don't be a dumb shit, but if the least you want to do is smoke a little of the green, what harm does it do. Keep a job and try to get a car and an apartment. Don't be a looser and have fun with your life.
