What about these lights? Good deal?

Hey, could anybody answer a question for me regarding whats better? Ebay has HPS 1000 Watt lights up for sale on ebay and one person is selling two 1000 Watt bulbs, a 1000 Watt HP Ballast, and a socket for 70 bucks...is this a good deal?

Or another person is selling one HPS 1000 Watt bulb, the 1000 Watt ballast, and a bat wing for 80 bucks. The ballast has 1000 hours on it. Is this a better deal?

I just wanted someone to help me so I can get a good grow started with my blueberry seeds...thank ya kindly.

 

Either that or you could go to Insidesun.com and get new (or recon) ones for around $225. I dont think buyin used ballasts or bulbs is a good idea. Theirs no way of knowin how much life is left in them. Go to Insidesun.com. Their prices are rediculiosly low. Im gonna go there now and check somma their prices. I like goin their anyhow just to see alla the great deals they got. I dont work there or have any intrests in the place and I aint tryin to make a comercial forem or nothin but I checked alot of places and these guys are bout the best when it comes to low prices. Tell Mike CanniEvergrow sent ya and when I make my orders mabey he'l consider it.

Excellent advice! Inside Sun makes great products! Bout to make a switch to them! I bought a 400W HPS/MH conversion set-up from ebay for like $125 shipped.......it was new but the guy made them himself......he used those old metal ammo boxes to house the guts for the ballast! It works and was only ran for 24hrs (or so he says) just to make sure they operated well. But the ballast is stupid loud! I've kinda gotten used to it.....but i am totally ready for a nice, new, digital ballast.....and light setup! But anywho, enough bout me. Great advice Canni!

Yeah, ebay has some good stuff! I just missed out on a couple bids so I need to get a light with the ballast and hood and im thinking about a 1000 Watt HPS/MH light. I was watching this video that someone linked in a post and this guy grew 4 clones and said he got more than a 1/4 lb of bud, using a 450 Watt HPS/MH. The plants were white widow and ak47. Anyways, does anyone have advice on using a 1000 Watt light, and could i double the bud using this light?

 

Far out! Mike at InsideSun got them electronic ballasts. When ya get it would you post up the differance in your electric bill? Im curious as to the savings. I bet youl save firstly from the lesser amount of power they use and secondly from the reduction of watts you gotta burn up with your ac.

 

I designed and built a 4 bukkit dwc system for someone a fyew months ago and we set it under a 1000watt hps. We rooted and veged clones for 4 weeks under 2 double tube flouro fixtures in 4 bubble bukkits, and placed them into the dwc system under the 1000 watt hps. He asked me what kinda weight he would get every 2 months and I told him he would get at least an lb. He wound up with 20 oz instead. You could expect simular results if you read alot and seek wize council on the message boards.

 

I think Im gonna use a 1000 Watt HPS or 750 Watt HPS and grow some low life ak47...these are suppposed to be some good plants with quite a good yield.

the 12ha day so every 56days you harvest 1 lamp, in a good grow room
you can get upto 12oz.

8weeks in 18ha room and 8 weeks in 12ha

 

You can't clone the seeds im hoping to get, which are auto ak47. So im hoping to just pollinate part of a female with a male im sure to get, and will get some big ass plants under a 1000 Watt HPS. I definitely want to get my money's worth, and by pollinating a female its a good investment.

 

are you saying that you can't clone a female plant? cos it's ak47
or cos you just would like to grow it from seed?
and can i just say that the grow room is more important
than the size of the lights. so setup nice!

 

You cant clone an autoflower. Cloning aint an option when your workin with an autoflowering strain. To each his own. I would shurly get somthing I could clone tho. If you wanna run an autoflowering strain you gotta be a breader as well as a grower if you wanna grow your own seeds. Why not just get a normal strain and clone? Itl be alot easier.

 

I never knew there was a autoflower sounds good for a fast outdoor!

 

It takes so much longer that way. This auto ak47 is done in 70 days and i am not very patient with my weed.

Seed Soak is a liquid hormone. Simply sprout your seeds in Seed Soak, then plant them out as usual. Seed Soak will increase the ratio of female to male plants. Some plant varieties have been known to produce up to 95% females after being sprouted in Seed Soak.

 

But with clones you first have to grow the original plant for two months and right now im not in that position. I think im moving out soon.

 

Then ak47 looks best!
