Since Pink Floyd's induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Moody Blues (along with King Crimson and Yes) are at the head of the list of progressive rock groups which have not yet been inducted and consistently top opinion polls of acts whom the public feel should be inducted. Best album: In search of the Lost Chord, On the Threshold of a Dream, to our Children's children's children. http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=GJETHtCN-zk&mode=related&search=
To Our Children's Children's Children is my favorite from them, as well as one of my all-time favorite albums. I also really enjoy Seventh Sojurn.
the vinyl guy at our local monday market convinced me to buy Days of Our Future Passed and it is quickly becoming a favourite staple of mine.
I am sticked to their Candle of life song, I dont know, sometimes a song keeps in my head for days, and even though I have hear it for so many years, thr song touches you right where it should, Right now, I am on that song, Listening everyday.
Days of Future Passed has the absolute best cover to stare at while stoned. If you have an album and are able to see all the detail, you will loose track of all the faces and silhouettes that seem to suddenly appear from nowhere. My current favorite Moody Blues songs are "Dawn Is a Feeling" and "Isn't Life Strange."
I always thought that Justin Hayward had one of the, if not the best sounding voices in Rock and Roll. At least in his earlier days. Seen the band many times live, and always was great, except for last year. The band has lost so much over the past few years. Justin doesnt sing as well anymore, and the rest of the band are just not as fluent with the music as they once were. That happens with age, and the Moody Blues should have just hung it up a few years ago. I hate to see a band continue when they are on a down swing.
I saw them in Atlantic city, they are simply amazing and beautiful, In search of the lost chord, On the threshold of a dream, A question of balance top 3 So progressive
I am ashamed to say I have never even heard of this group. I am acquiring their discography presently. Can't wait.
Im not a massive fan of The Moodies but I must say,I love Tuesday Afternoon and Legend of a Mind.Superb.
This is good news They deserve the induction. Luckily when i was younger my parents where listening to thier music and have been to quite a few of thier concerts. Though know most of thier songs been listening to "When you're a free man" and "Simple Game" lately. though like to many of them to pick a particular best.
Ive been listening to their tunes a fair bit recently on You Tube and Im starting to appreciate them alot more.I only have a "greatest" double album but I'll rectify this.
