The CEO of virgin media, an internet provider, called net neutrality "a load of ballocks". This bascially means Virgin wants to favor companies on the internet that they partnerships with. Meaning, if you are a virgin customer and you go to websites that virgin has partnership deals with, such as their own video site, everything will load fast and if you go to a site that virgin is not partnered with, like Youtube or something everything will load really slowly and you won't even want to go to those sites anymore. If you want to learn more about this just look up "Net neutrality", or "stop virgin media" in google.

that is nothing new. it not just virgin mobile. at&t, msn, google, yahoo!, t-moible, etc. they all do that right now and, the list goes on and on! this has really taken off over about the last 3 years. a number of organizations like the a.c.l.u. consumers union, public citizen, etc. are fighting this tooth and nail. "maybe" things will start to change better after the november 2008 election.

So companies shouldn't be able to decided how their resources are used?

I am sorry but net neutrality is an attack on liberty.

That has to be the dumbest reason to boycott something I've ever read.

I had a Virgin mobile phone...Returned it the next day because the service was crap. Went to Telus instead.

when i read the title of this i was worried that i'd feel guilty about going to the Virgin Fest in Toronto due to some incredible child labour thing. but, happily i really think net neutrailty is the last thing that needs to be whined and thought about.

    seriously?

net neutrality allows people like you, to find websites like this.

if you don't think net neutrality is an issue, you don't understand the question.
