I bought a new red acrylic 2 footer last week, and it was working fine. Then the smoke started getting really harsh and burns my throat. I don't know why this is, I thought it was the screen so I took it out but the burning continues. Oh well, I'm still smoking it because it gets me rrrripppedd but it'd be nice to not cough blood afterwards (joke).
Is there water in there? If yes, continue troubleshooting, if no, fill bong and try again. Is the removable piece's end resting in the water? I changed the water right before I started smoking my new weed out of it... It's called White Shark and it's the fuckin bombest weed I've smoked in a while so that might have something to do with it... It's also pretty dry. This stuff makes me hack and cough no matter what I smoke out of. However, it is seriously like smoking fibreglass dust when I use it in the bong. Makes my throat feel like it's bleeding, and strangely I've been finding blood in my nose whenever I try the bong. Not good. I've given up on the bong for now, nothing is helping. Didn't know grit weed had made it to the states yet.. any weed smoked out of a bong should not be harsh, no matter the strain.
Twizz, dude, lick a bit of it, if it feels like you're licking sand, or chewing bits of really crunchy shit, it's gritweed, and it's bad mojo. ground glass can accumulate in your lungs, can pass through a bong, and can give you a lung disease called silicosis, which can ruin your smoking for life, and can, over time, kill you. Microscopic cuts on your lung tissue is not good things. Is it worth the risk for a buzz? if the weed's fine, then the next thing I'd suspect would be the bong. if it smokes harsh every time, on any type of weed, (which, if you want to test, use some cig tobacco. it'll suck, but at least you'll have a control) if it smokes harsh with the cig, I'd say your bong, being 'supposedly' acrylic, could be releasing some nasty chemicals into your lungs, especially if part of it's overheating. look for discolored spots, and check what you used to clean it with as well. honestly, roach, it sounds like grit, but if it is, that's shit for us in the states, you know? update: cannabis.com has reports of gritweed on the east coast, mostly northeast, but east coast supply. things to look for denser than average sack shiny crystals on mids grit on the tongue or 'crunch' like you've chipped a tooth if you lick a bit. imported is a red flag buying from a different than usual dealer if you've got it, seriously, throw it. Count it as a wash, and don't smoke any more of it. If you don't want to waste it, then do an iso-hash on it, and so long as you screen it well, you SHOULD be ok. its not bad weed. I paid 110 for a half o of this shit and it's the most chronic pure weed I've smoked EVER.
then you'd better look and make sure your bong's not overheating and offgassing somewhere, because there's not a reason that you should be having those problems unless something's wrong somewhere.
