I just can't seem to break this run of depression. I guess I thought just listing it all and getting it out of my head would help. Looking for some ideas too as to what I can do to get out of this funk.

My brother went to prison about a month ago, he is still in the R&E phase waiting on a yard to be sent to. Trafficking in Methx2 were the charges. 9 year sentence at 85%. I miss him so much. He is my best friend and now I feel like I have no one to talk to. We share the same medical and mental issues (serious multiple back/spine problems and depression with anxiety/panic attacks). Nobody else in my family understands the pain and/or need for meds to deal with it.

My husband after 8 years of serious drug addiction (meth & crack) finally went through a detox program that seemed to work, had 18 months clean and just recently started back smoking weed. He is still on probation with drug testing. Dumbass!

We have serious lack of money issues. He is the only one working. He gets a ride to and from work with his mom. We don't have a car , or I would be job hunting like a madwoman right now. Very close to losing our house.

Oh, I could go on and on, but if you have even made it this far, I thank you for reading. Any and all thoughts or opinions appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brandy "Dolls2Diamonds"

Granny knows it hurts to feel alone, but I try and focus on others that have it worse off than me. You need to look forward and not let these things get cha down, you have worth and somebody needs you. I've been married 40 years and seen ups and downs,,but when hubby needed support, I was there to let him know everythings going to be okay,,and he did the same for me.

    The light will shine through,,,,,,,

i cant say i understand, but i have my share of problems to. in my opinion, venting is a great idea. its helped me alot. make sure you dont end up using too. you can help the ones you love, by asking them to stop. i got my grandmother to stop when i was young, i asked her to stop, every time she needed to lite up, every day. just be strong and you will pull through, so dont loose hope. if you need to vent more, you can im me. peace!

Brandy, it sounds like you have a lot of good reasons to be depressed. I've found some things that help when I feel pushed down by the world. The first one is journaling. Writing down my anger, sadness, and other negative feelings. Next I do artwork about how I feel... painting, drawing, collage... give those feelings a color, a face. You can leave as it is and feel that you've conquered them all, or just paint over the entire thing with black paint and them do swirls of colored paint... colors that make you feel better.. for me it's pink and purple and silver.

Then I make a book of things that make me smile or laugh and just feel good about myself... jokes (especially George Carlin), cartoons, cards people sent me, positive articles I've found online, in magazines or newspapers, quotes, prayers if they help, happy memories. I add to this each time the world becomes unbearable. I also have a list of things that I've accomplished in my life.

Meditation, color therapy and crystals also help me alot.

The bottom like is you can't control what other people do with their own lives, all you can do is control how your react to it.

    Namaste and blessings....
