Has anyone else read this book? i just read it and its really made me think about a lot and its made me look at, i guess, life in general in a whole new way. i just wanted to know what other people think of this book. i know its pretty popular but no one else i know has read it. so..i just like to have other peoples take on it. thanks a heap -Liz
I've read it... twice even... its such an inspirational book! I love it... Every time I read it I get something new from it... I love it and I recomend it to everyone.
I liked the book quite a bit - sorry one of those books I refuse to tell someone what its about - you just need to read it.
great book! but, yeah, you should just read it for yourself... it just makes you think about things differently. Even if you already think that way, the book organizes it into an interesting story...
I read it, and told a friend to read it, and she did and loved it, but she's too into it, doesn't remember that it's a story, I told her to remember its not a sacred book or truth, it's a suggestion, and she got all offfended. wtf. as bad as a hardcore christian bible thumper....
Well, 2012 is "tab". Just like LSD= 12 19 4 which rearanges to 1 21 9 4= Au ID. My gfriends bday is 12-21.
That is hilarious, it reminds me how disappointed friends of mine were when I told them the Blair witch project was just a movie.... hehehe
I dont understand, 2012 is tab, what do you mean. I see what you are getting at with the letters, and numbers, I think. Far as I know, 2012 became a big topic when the date of Dec. 21, 2012 was given as the end date of the Mayan calendar. So, it is the end of this age, or sun, as they call it. What that means, I don't know, but many have decided that it means the end.
good book, i really liked it alot and did you know there is another book about either the 11th or the 12th proficy?
That's because many people are idiots. Anyways, yeah, great book, I just read it the other day. I love how the narrator, the "I" is never named or even definitely given a gender. It's like we are supposed to be the I. And though it is just a story, it's based on reality, from the teachings of don Juan (amazingly, I got a book about this don Juan from the library at the same time as this book, not knowing the two were related at all. Talk about coincidences...) and other mystical things. Proven fact? No of course not. True events? Not at all. But ideas worth looking into for the spiritual-minded? You bet.
actually, they mentioned the narrator a lot.. it was a man.. though for the life of me i cannot seem to remember his name
There is a thread on this book in the 'Books' forum. I said that 'The Celestine Prophecy' is an over-simplification of more complicated issues much like mix-tapes give the listener a mainstream view of genres of music that have a lot more depth. I thought it was a good book but the shine wore off after a little while. The date 2012 is of significance in different coinciding ways. For example, in a very concise and well-thought out argument, Graham Hancock deduces a major shift in the Earth's crust occuring around the date 22/12/2012. If you read the sticky on this forum it also illustrates the significance of 2012 to the Mayans as the beginning of the Aquarian age. Furthermore, the McKenna brothers deduced a mathematical pattern in the Book of Changes, commonly known as the I Ching. I'm not a mathematician, but this formula somehow also indicated 2012 as a date of significance. What is more important though is that Terrence McKenna, in a theory known as Time-Wave Zero, plotted human creative development against time and found that the correlation reached an Omega point around 22/12/2012. Either we all die, we enter a new 'creative' age or we continue as we are. I wouldn't take it without a couple grains of salt.
