WEll, I stand by my point that your advice is crap. And, since you can't graciously take an apology, Fuck yourself with a crucifix.

Okay, guys, if you want to fight, please do it elsewhere. I made this thread for advice and informational purposes, not so everyone could argue about what works and what doesn't. Everyone's opinion is their own and doesn't have to conflict with other's personal beliefs.
But anyways, thank you everyone for posting and sharing your experiences! They will all help me very much on my way to piercing-ness. I am glad to say that I will be getting my vertical labret pierced some time this month. Feel free to post about any other type of lip piercings, though. I'm sure any info will help somebody.
    :peace: to all.

    kewl! Congrats- post pics!
I think vertical labrets are very
neat- I have heard they have good healing time and are better for gum/teeth.I ALMOST wish I had got one instead... if i didn't love my placement so much.lol

[IMG] Heres mine! i actually i am thinking about getting another piercing right next to it then switching them both to hoops.. but i did bite on it a lot when i got it on accident it was very painful, i was told to use the gold Listerine and it turned out just fine.. and i have a bit of gum reccesion. but i think it was only because i used to have a longer post in.. GOOD LUCK!!!

i had mine pierced and a ring put straight in, she did say it may take longer to heal but i cant stand anything touching my teeth. it healed up just fine, and barely swelled!
all the cleaning stuff wrecks my skin. and the salt water made it dry. i put good quality real essential oil of lavender on mine, and thats all i used.
i'm not saying it is a good idea, but it's what works for me and my skin ;)

i agree with bunjies.... the ring worked MUCH better on a brand new piercing than the stud did. i didn't bite on it, it was large enough to accommodate the swelling, and it didn't move that much as long as i didn't move it around. i had a much better experience putting the ring in right after the piercing than i did the stud, but again, that's just me.

I just got it done today. I went to a shop that was very reputable and clean. My brother had gotten his nose pierced there so I knew that it was legit, anyway.

I absolutely love the placement of it! The curved barbel I have in this picture is obviously bigger than it needs to be, to accommodate the swelling. I will be able to put a shorter barbel in once it has healed. So far I can see no swelling or real irritation. I think that the piercer did a good job and knew what he was doing.
As for the pain involved, I have heard sooo many mixed reviews on the vertical labret. Some said that they didn't feel a thing, and I've heard some people say that it was the worst pain in their life. As for me, it really didn't hurt all that much. It felt like if you bit your lip really hard. Kind of like a pinching sensation, but only for a moment.
So if you're thinking about getting a vertical labret, I'd say go for it! It'll be worth it.

Wow, that's really nice! I like it. :)

I'm glad you went to a reputable shop. I got mine done in some random place on St. Mark's and wound up with one hell of an infection! I had to get it gaged (at a reputable place), to clear the infection and it hurt like a bitch.

Good luck with the healing process, it looks sick!
