If it is true that In Quantom physics, were it is believed that once an object or thing is observed, it is now altered. Then could it be that if a human is observed or under observation (lets say by police or other forces like that), the person being observed or there actions have now been altered by the people that are investigating them. Could a biker, ot drug dealer, for example, act more biker-ish or behave in a fasion that meets what he or she believes the observer expects, in a subconscious attempt to please, or out of fear of having others in there group see him or her as being different or weak, when the evedance is revealed in court ? Would anyone of these people want there friends finding out that they actually obey most laws or that they like to knit and have tea with church groups? Much better for them to give there observers, what they expect, and be seem as part of the group, by there group. Could an innocent person, that has become aware they are being observed but not have any form of explanation for the surveillance. Could that person now act in a suspicious way, for example looking over there shoulder a lot when using a public phone, constantly changing direction while driving, even driving faster to try escape the surveillance? Could a person in those circumstances become angry and erratic even going so far as to behave in a suspicious criminal way, becouse of the survalance? It is for these reasons that the manual on psychology has been rewritten, so as to avoid labeling patients, as it has been observed that once a person accepts the label, lazy, stupid, bad, good, criminal, E.C.T. they will in fact BECOME what there are labeled. So, a person that is aware they are being observed in a manor that goes aganst the norm day to day. May actually argue, the people doing the surveillance, had in effect an enormous influence on there behaviour AND ACTIONS. The moment a subject or person becomes aware they are under surveillance, all evedance based on there actions. Is now flawed and should be thrown out. As a person that has been and is under surveillance I know for a fact it has changed me and the way I act, even with the knowledge of what is happening, I still find it hard to avoid being what I think my observers want me to be. Such is the powerful need for approval from others, and the conditioned (by society) need to please, those perceived as having power or of being in authority. Also as seen by experiments done were some students of Psychology played the roll of prison guard and others played the roll of prisoner. The guards became cruel and very aggressive and the prisoners became oppressed, to the point the experiment had to be ended before time so as not to have any injury caused to the students, by the students or the experiment.
I have to say, I have never heard anybody else put this any better...The need for approval is a very strong motivator...I have seen and heard about the prisoner vs. prison guard experiment, and I found it to be very interesting...It's amazing how people will change their actions if they are watched...Just one person watching another's actions can completely and radically change the observed person's actions.
