Partisan Republican bullshit or not, an intelligent, free-thinking person can't help but be objective and ask themselves exactly what it was that Kerry pulled out from his jacket and placed on to the podium at the debates, Thursday night. This is taking into consideration that nothing was allowed to be brought onstage (pens, paper, etc.). So, if this is the case, what is it you can see Kerry pulling out from his jacket? http://www.drudgereport.com/dnc57.htm http://www.freepressinternational.com/kerry.1032004.cheat.1926.html http://www.boston.com/news/special/politics/debate_video/sept29/1.html
There were cameras at different angles all over that joint. The ones you see on TV are just one or two. I doubt anyone could get away with anything in that type of setup.
You may have noticed the red, yellow, and green lights on the podiums that showed the time remaining. Those were demanded by the Bush camp. They figured Kerry would ramble and go past the time limit, so they wanted visual and audio indicators that the audience and TV viewers could see whenever Kerry went past the time limit. They were hoping to portrary him as a rule breaker. It didn't work, so now they're apparently trying again to make him look like a rule breaker.
Yeah, nobody really knows what it was. What it might have been is nothing more than speculation. But I don't think it's a partisan matter, really, considering that the video footage clearly shows him removing something from the inside of his jacket and setting it down on the podium, which is against the rules. Period. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking questions. I am not accusing Kerry of cheating. I am simply questioning something that has reason to question.
Good lord, who cares. This was the farthest thing from a real debate I have ever seen. I was disappointed. In a real debate you can take notes without everyone thinking you're cheating. You can aslo ask opponets questions and verify sources. There is also a limit to how many rebuttals you have on a question.
They're allowed to take notes with the pens and paper that are already on the podium when they walk out onstage. I never said taking notes was against the rules.
There can be no end to this type of stuff. I think for the next debates Bush and Kerry should be nude and be subjected to a cavity search.
They should! After all, average Americans can't even board a plane anymore without having their anus fingered.
Could have been breath mints, a pen, glasses, tissue, lucky penny, anything. I don't know if I like the idea of naked debates however...not until we get some better looking politicians. :X
and OH YES he's gonna take a cheat sheet out in front of millions of people..come on it's more republican bullshit.
Hehehe.... I'm not denying it's Republican BS. All this mud-slinging on both sides is pretty pathetic, really. But it's entertaining, nonetheless.
Heard on the radio this morning that a frame-by-frame analysis shows that the object was a plain black pen. This was "officially" not allowed by the debate rules, but it is highly unlikely that it was any kind of "cheating" device...
I don't know. That pen may have had a secret EM transmitter in it that Kerry aimed at Bush to scramble his brain waves. As Maxwell Smart would say, "Of course! The old 'Brain Wave Scrambler Hidden In The Ballpoint Pen' trick!" P.S. That's the second time the Bush camp fell for it this month!
lol! This thread was funny. It shows how pathetic and desparate the Republicans are getting though. Kerry handily won the debates (who wouldn't win over that stuttering, repeating idiot) and the Republicans are freaking.
ha ha, it was just a pen. I guess an intelligent, free-thinking person might want to dismiss this little mystery. Desperation I tell you.
