Has anyone seen this movie? Best Japanese flick i've ever seen. It's so brutal. Like when they they thought someone was squeeling (they got the wrong guy) they had him hanging from hooks through his skin face down and then poured boiling oil all over him. Its also pretty funny. When one of the guys from a rival gang started work for another, he had face surgically reconstructed. When he tells his gang mate this he laughs out loud (its also more hilarious in because they're speaking Japanese) "Why did you pick such an ugly face?" Check it out if you haven't seen it
the movie was good, but like battle royale it's totally outstripped by the glorious manga it came from
Aye, Miike is a legend! Ichi the Killer is an amazing film. The anime is pretty disgraceful though, I felt that it was a half-arsed attempt. Check out MPD Psycho, the ideas are taken from the MPD psycho graphic novels (which I must add are fucking brilliant... the artwork, the stories...WOW!).
I just saw ichi the killer last week. It was awesome. My favorite part was when that old frail looking man takes his overalls off and he is RIPPED, then he breaks every bone in that guy's body. talk about the king of deception. I really want to see Audition but they dont have it at the local rental place so looks like imma have to ebay....im not too fond of ebay but it will be worth it.
Audition and Itchi the Killer are the most brutal movies I've ever seen. Even beats out overly done Anime violence.
Audition is disgusting. I don't get how can you like the movie, unless you've got a fetish for this sought of thing, and really, I think Audition borders on the fetish side of theatre, the missing link between hardcore porn and horror. It's not the worst japanese movie I've seen though, oh no, not by a long shot.
