it's Barbet Schroeder's "MORE" (1969) with the Pink Floyd. A great drug movie too and definitely one that's hard to forget. The action takes place in Paris and then to Ibiza where the main characters and the local community seem to shun footwear a lot . Comments?
I love Pink Floyd and I love barefooting, but I haven't heard the album or seen the movie. I'll have to check it out. More came out right after A Saucerful of Secrets, so there's no Barrett, right?
Oh this is the movie with the beautifully haunting tune Cymbaline in it. I've never seen the film but it's definitely going on my list of movies to watch.
David Gilmore often was seen barefoot. lol, MORE is a great movie, but I guess Im gona have to go into the old movie bin now and pay attention to your observations. I never noticed, listen to the soundtrack more( pun) often then the movie More..
Another relevant movie is «An American Hippie in Israel» http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1388371/ . It appears that the main character and a lot of others are not just hippies but full time barefooters, and rather seasoned ones too. that cat in the picture below passes through the entire movie without wearing any kind of footwear and half of the movie takes place on a carpet of rocks. it is partially a surrealistic movie and ends very nastily . a must see . the look barefoot public spuɐɥ ɹnoʎ uı əɯıʇ əəɹɟ ɥɔnɯ ooʇ əʌɐɥ noʎ uosıɹo
