What im trying to say is.. the US has total military domination. Work outwards from there. They own space, they own the air, they rule the sea.. doh what else do you want? Well, initially, the US has the capacity of no other military on earth. We could completely decimate the infrastructure of any nation on earth without having to resort to nuclear warfare. Our and sea power is unrivaled. But than, quelling an insurgent population is a bit more costly and personnel heavy than an air war. We could never invade China. That's just insane. I read somewhere that the number of draftable men in China was around 300 million, which is the entire population of the US.
China is well integrated into the Global economy. Military domination is never enough. In fact it can be the least important factor, globally and strategically. Was Gorbachev anticipated in 1975. I have drunk to much again ha ha. The US has already defeated Europe in battle. Cheers and all the best

Military Imperialism died with the last century. Economic Imperialism is where it's at now. All of our planes, ships, and tanks become billion dollar hat racks when the oil to run them runs out, or when they break down and need replacement parts.
Really? Because across history the huddled masses tend to be quite content to be suppressed and exploited. It's only when they run out of food do they get nasty. At least this is what drives 'grass-root' revolutions, like the Communists in Russia or the Democrats in France. On the other hand, rebellions that are instigated by the upper class, like the American Revolution, American Civil War and English Civil War, use concepts like 'freedom' and 'suppression' in order to rile up the masses to get them behind their cause.

Ha-ha... remember how Russia defeated the Nazi's in Stalingrad? Russia just keep throwing more and more people into the fire-fight whether they had guns or not, because they just had so many more people... 400,000 died in that battle alone. China has so many more people than that...
