I've tried Veet Hair Remover a couple of times, and yes, it did burn like hell - and what's worse, it goes on burning even after a thorough rinsing. I't's not so bad on the main pubis, but once it gets to the scrotum, that's the real killer. I said a couple of times, as I thought I should try a second time, just in case of the possibilities of (a) having misused it & (b) of it being the same as with shaving, where the skin gets used to it, thus making it easier the 2nd time round. The results were negative to both options. It burned like hel the 2nd time as well. To be fair, it does say on the instructions that the product should not be used for the removal of Pubic Hair, although I have come across several women who use it to keep their pubes smooth, but they don't have the sensitivity of sking as the men do with the scrotal sac. In my opinion, I reckon Veet (or some such company) should get their fingers out & get their Research & Development bods onto coming up with a formula that can effectively remove pubic hair without it affecting the skin. After all, when all said & done, it has to be basically no more than a simple chemical reaction to break down the protein chains of the hairs.
I use the stuff that is advertised for beards. I don't do my sack though its not that hairy,I just shave it. The stuff doesn't burn(me at least) and am real happy with it,plus it doesn't itch when it starts to grow back and no ingrown hair either.
I use a Braun Silk and Soft shaver down below every day to keep things nice and smooth . Also if anyone likes to keep around the bottom hole hair free, I recommend using an ear and nose trimmer 'cause when you can't see where you are shaving , you don't want something too sharp!
I've recently seen the ads on (UK) TV for Liso Pure, a JML product, available only from Boots (and online, of course), but as it's not exactly cheap (£9.99) I wanted to be sure it was suitable for the purpose of clearing pubic hair, whereas Veet does specify on the instructions that it SHOULDN'T be used for pubic hair, but Veet is a cream, whereas Liso Pure is a mousse, so I e-mailed the Customer Service link asking whether or not it was suitable. The only information I got as a reply was an attached PDF file of a scan of the label, and a brief covering note saying that as it didn't say you shouldn't use it for pubic hair, then it could probably be assumed that it could - Whether it can or not, I still consider that a very irresponsible attitude to take. If JML didn't have the precise information, only being retailers, albeit the exclusive retailers, surely the onus should have been on them to contact the manufacturers & find out for certain, one way or the other. Anyway, I decided to give it a try & went into the main Boots' store in town - and they didn't have it in stock, so I'm still none the wiser.
