People accross the street from me have a cat population explosion, the cats are left to fend for themselves , so I have been feeding and watering them. The problem is now much worse due to the fact that they are getting sick, and thus far every new litter that is born, has died, The sickness has also spread the other peoples cats down the street.

    I need sound advice PLEASE!!!!!!!

Cats are like an open petri dish of typhus.A taxidermist could help you live happily ever after.

The taxidermist would have only a short bit of work with what is left of the skinny lot , it is just so horrible to see them suffering ,how can the owners handle walking through them each day!?
The people dont even leave a dish of water out for the creatures!
I reported it to the enviromental health , they sent the pound out, theowners werent home, so nothing was done!! wishing good karma your way brother Ghostcrab

i think that this is absolutly horific! i don't know how the owners can live with them selvs or sleep at night knowing that they have sick animals that they don't even bother to feed or take to a vet, or even get the adults nutered so they cant have any more kittens! that would be the kindest thing to do for them. There are a lot of peple in my country that get cats and don't nuter them and they wonder why they keep having kittens? sounds like they have kidney falior or feline ades, i'm not a vet but that's what the symptems suggest to me anyway. i'm sure your nabours don't apreceate there cats becoming ill iether! are the cats always lying down, do they eat much when ya feed them? and how much water they drinkin? sorry for all the questions but i'm just trying to build up a picture of what its like, in a metaphorical way any way as i cant see anything. I hate to think of animals of any kind suffering unnecisseraly if there can be a silution to the problum. :( hope things work out for you sweety. let me know how ya get on with the kitties, pm me if ya want to, i may not be able to find this thread again, and i am quite conserned for the poor wee furry things. ps do you have msn messinger? i could talk to you if you installed that on your pc, aim and yahoo don't work with my speach programme :( which is a bit annoying! let me know how things turn out wont ya, i would really like to know how they are.

ahh the winter will take care of the sick ones.

The people down the stree who have sick cats will just have to take them to the vet and get them some meds. It's the ones with no owners who have it rough.

The ones that have owners are the ones that are terribly sick and left to fend for themselves, it looks as if the really sick ones have all died off, there are 3 or 4 expecting litters, I continue to make sure they have food and water because when I stopped, the owners didnt even put any out for them.

You should call an animal cruelty number and report it. It sounds like abuse and neglect. Get the government on their ass.

    Contact a trap-neuter-release group.

My god what a worthless animal protection group!
Maybe the police could do something? its against the law to treat animals like that! Maybe you can find people with you who can help you take care of those poor cats, and at least try to make them feel better.
