It's occurred to me to maybe start extracting my own. Especially when it goes underground. That said. I've read the various extraction methods. Won't that light my house up like a damn meth lab?

I know how you feel....ive got a salvia plant and ive been drying some leaves from it, i have maby 5 grams so far....only enough to make 1G of 5X.

The extraction methods ive read about on the internet look somewhat complicated, and they look very easy to mess up.

1 warning dont use naptha!!! Some people use naptha to give there salvia a better taste, well its a carcinegin so stay away from that shit. All you should need is isopropic alcohol. I really wanta try extracting to but it looks hard:(

Don't you also have to use acetone at some point. Also sound pretty caustic to your insides. And thought of Naptha makes me want to toss chunks. Wonder if you can use 150 proof Everclear in place of Naptha?:cheers2:

The naptha and acetone are all alcohol-based solvents needed to extract the salvinorum A- you can use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) or high-proof grain ethanol (Everclear) for the same action. You only need one solvent.

That said, will using high proof grain affect the quality of the extract? In other words if I'm extracting it at a 10 x level, will it still have the same quality as th4 Naptha/acetone extracts?

If it does, it won't be in a noticable way. High proof ethanol works very well from my experiences, in particular, Everclear is usually the standard for ethanol-based extractions.
