Alexa plenty of head friendly fungus can be found in the south of this province. Start with rogersmushroomsdotcom and go from there. Respect the cautions because a mis-ID can be very unpleasant indeed. I have a list of other sites if you wish but that one is a great one for all type of fungus. peace.
Ok, I'm stoned, and a few of the posts are way too long to read. I also live in Ontario (outside of Toronto). What was the final verdict? Are there mushies in this area? (or at least driving distance)? Peace Soc
After becoming curious as to wether or not these fungi do or do not grow here, I decided to do some research. So far i have found documented cases of the following species being found here in Ontario: Psilocybe atrobrunnea cf. Psilocybe caerulipes Psilocybe camptopoda Psilocybe cernua Psilocybe conissans Psilocybe coprophila Psilocybe elongatipes Psilocybe ericaea Psilocybe larga Psilocybe montana Psilocybe murcida cf. Psilocybe pelliculosa Psilocybe rhombispora Psilocybe squalidella cf. Psilocybe silvatica I have no idea if any of these species are considered to have an active amount of Psilobybin in them or not, although I do believe that at least some of them must.. So yes, they are around although they may not be all that common.
Just for the record, most Psilocybe mushrooms do not contain Psilocybin or contain too little to use realistically. They are in the Psilocybe family for purely taxonomic reasons, not because they are psychoactive.
yo dude I live in toronto too and have been lookin everywhere for some shrooms i looked in 4 parks already including high park. Can you please tell me the forrest you found the Fly agaric in? been wanting to try that, much love man peace.
Personally, i don't see any reason in helping this person. After reading this thread, OP is kind of an asshole. Good luck on the search anyway.
Dude, why? You're killing my shroom vibe. I'll help this guy out if he's not dead or in jail. Take the 400 to Barrie. Go to the Minnesing Wetlands Area, it's huge. Amanita Muscaria grow there from what I've seen september-early november. Have fun!
You are not going to find Psilocybe cubensis that far north. Your best bet is panaeolus subbalteatus (the most common magic mushroom in the world) around horse stables. You could also start a outdoor patch of wood lovers but you have to make sure you pile a layer of straw on it in the late winter for insulation to keep them from getting to cold. Here is a pdf version of paul stamets's book Psilocybin mushrooms of the world which is the best guide out there. http://www.4shared.com/office/ELs75raD/psilocybin_mushrooms_of_the_wo.html
