    the big 4 0....................
    hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
i hope that they do have a marvelous anniversary of the '69 festival.
the only problem is that the last festival in '99 was pretty sad music wise.
i mean, the red hot chili peppers played "fire" (hendrix) so terribly, and they used NAKED as a stage gimmick!

i hope they bring together, bring back, some good ol' music.

    what do u guys think?

I think I'm not gonna bother. It's owned by MTV, which I despise. They managed to ruin Bonnaroo, what makes you think they'll do any better with a festival that's already been ruined?

altough i think woodstock is dead and they should not do another one, i cant find any information that says that mtv/viacom owns woodstock or any other festival.

There are events that you just can't duplicate - let alone triplicate.

i haven't seen any documentation that Bonnaroo is owned by MTV either, however I have heard it from various sources, some of whom aren't but several that are legit...I'm still really confused. If someone could prove this, either way, it would make me more at ease.

ok well sorry for the change of subject within this thread...then in your opinion why do you think that Bonnaroo is slowly going down hill. Obviously that is a personal opinion, but its less jam bandy etc... why, why would superfly be doing that? it was so successful and people loved it, and now its changing the crowd and I'm just puzzled

ok after some research I know and can confirm, along with Willy Wonka, that MTV does NOT own Bonnaroo. I don't know what the deal was with the lineup this year, but it had nothing to do with MTV.

I am not a RHCP fan at ALL, but i really enjoyed their cover of Fire at Woodstock 99.
And naked wasn't their gimmick--they often play naked.
And for a crappy band, they're really good live--i've accidentally seen them a handful of times at various festivals/co-heads, etc.

    E X A C T L Y.

i'm not sayin they ONLY needed a stage gimmick for woodstock '99, they've needed it thru-out their career!
