George Orwell refers to "Big Brother" in 1984, but in the book the government actually spies on them. I haven't read in years (very difficult read) but the point is that you cannot escape. They watch your every move, in the book they really did. Like helicopters in the windows type stuff.

I honestly hated reading it, I liked the message but awful read.

 

that book was intense, i need to read it again now that its not for school

but then again if you like to think that some of the greatest books of a century are "awful reads" then that's your business

not helicopters, they had monitors anywhere and everywhere, that constantly, well, monitored them
