what kind of setup would you have.

    i'd go with:

weapon of choice: all in all. i'd stay with the 2570 rg
power: boss gt6 and a roland guitar synth
type of bullet. two hartke guitar 4 12s(celestion speakers 260 w on 4 ohms)...and a line 6 300 watt head...yea. different people have different feelings toward line 6 stuff especially toward headwork..i do too. but. i'd keep it under control.

Well, personally, I like what I have already... that is a Gibson Les Paul 1960 RI or a Fender 50th Deluxe strat into a Fender cyber twin with an outboard flanger, octavia, and delay. Also, I run a '71 D-35 into the same amp. I haven't used my telecaster in a while. I've been working on it for a few months... never had time to finish it.

Now, on the other hand, if I could have... '57 Gretsch White Falcon into a '59 Fender Deluxe miked into a Marshall Plexi with a Whizzer and a Bradshaw effects unit.

I don't know. I really like what I already have. I just want a new amp. I love les pauls.

    I do want to get a Martin D-45... or a D-42K2.

ha. yea. les pauls are really awesome. one would be great to have down the road. im not much for strats, but they're a good guitar overall. what's wrong with your amp? what do you plan to get? loud? do you usually jam out with anyone?

I actually like the rig I have now.
    Behringer B-5's
    Alto S-6 Mixer/Preamp
    Sony Minidisc
The only thing I would like to add at some point is a better Mic stand and Shockmounts. Eventually I'd like to pick up a couple of AKG C2K or C3K's.

Aria Pro II P bass knockoff with p/j pickups into either a Behringer bass V-amp(rehearsals and practice) or an Electro Harmonix Bass Balls, Schaller Fuzz, 70's Ibanez phaser and finally an 100 watt Marshall valvestate combo(live and in the studio).

My amp is too technical. I'm tired of fucking with it. I want a simple set up.

What is it, and why is it too complicated? Tech is good.

Got my ol' Yamaha electric, together with the Roland Cube-30 I bought today, and I usually use a pedal or two for effects, plus the effects on the amp itself.

    (Staying realistic :))

It's a Fender Cyber-Twin. The problem with it is that I've got to fiddle with it all the time and it has these motorized knobs and you turn a "data wheel" and it changes the type of amp it replicates... it's not really a modeling amp like the Line 6s are... but it sort of is. It has a tube pre-amp.

I just want something simple and pure tube. If you've ever used or seen a Fender Cyber-Twin, you'd know what I was talking about. It's nice if you play a shitload of genres like I do, but you've always got to find the right setting. The cool thing is that all the knobs are motorized...

Yeah Rubin, I saw that. I made a little joke about it in your gallery. All in good fun, ofcourse. For how long have you been playing?

So, do you mean any amount of cash? Because, if so... I would use a Mesa/Boogie triple rectifier head, a Mesa/Boogie Triaxis power amp, a Rocktron Prophecy preamp (or a Marshall JMP-1), a Rocktron Hush-II CX noise gate, and probably no effects rack as I already have a P.O.D. and am more than happy with her.

As for guitars, I'd go with the:

    Gibson SG Supreme
    Eastman 805CE
    1985 Charvel San Dimas A-441

    and... **ques choir music**

    The Vigier Excalibur!

But, what I have right now in my arsenal is pretty much plug and play. I have a 1990 Jackson soloist, a hot-rodded Mexican Stratobastard with a Seymour Duncan SD-12 in the bridge and nuasso pots, and I have a Washburn Idol-64 I got for $337.00, and with the pick up change it came to a very low $415.16. My amplifier is a Marshall JCM2000 DSL-100 halfstack with a celestion packed 1960A slant cabinet and as I mentioned a Line 6 P.O.D. . It's much easier than the rack I'd buy if I could, but it's much less versatile. I play neoclassical and classic rock mainly, so I don't need a lot of versatility, but for my progressive and Jazz-Fusion ideas I'd like to have a really versatile rack for recording and performance.

I like the Cyber Twins, I almost got one, but I heard they have a problem with one of the tubes rattling when you open it up. I hear they fixed that problem on the new ones. I like the idea of having a bank of a gazillion tones at my fingertips, But I am liable to stay close to one tone anyway - I'm an old dog so I don't learn new tricks well..

Amp wise - live, I use a Tech 21 Trademark 60, I have a couple of little Danelctro pedals for fun..My main guitar is a 50's RI Strat, For slide I use a MIM Standard Telecaster strung with 11's. I have a bunch of other guitars that I goof around with, But those two are the centerpieces of what I use.

Yeah.. mine doesn't rattle... I mostly use the Blues Combo setting or '83 Sidekick setting (the sidekick gets good hollowbody blues tones), '66 Super Reverb, and '65 Twin Reverb for acoustic.

George, dude... "Windy and Warm" is freakin' great! You can really hear the C.S.N influence in it. You should make an album bro. I'd buy it.

Yes... thank you. I'm quite the fan of CSN. Stephen Stills is a big influence... then there's people like Mississippi John Hurt, Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, Doyle Dykes, Chet Atkins, Neil Young, Roger McGuinn, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Big Bill Broonzy, Scott Henderson, Leo Kottke, Stephen Bennett, and Mark Hansen, Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I like... progressive jazz if you may call it. I've never been a huge fan of that Muddy Waters style blues though... it's too primative to me... I mean, he was good, but he was primative for his time. I've always been more of a Mississippi John Hurt fan... probably one of the first founders of figerstyle guitar and the first to ever really do fingerstyle blues. Robert Johnson is quite the cliche nowadays, but I must admit he's inspired as well.

I agree with MusicMan there. Orsino...bit reluctant about checking it out, lot of blatant self-promotion going around every music thread (you said as much yourself) But there's some damn good grooves on there. Windy and Warm is the best, while the blues tune sounds really Little Wing influenced.
    As for myself I've got:

    G&L Bluesboy Semihollow
    Tribute Strat
    Fender Cyclone
And two really shitty acoustics. But when I can get a Breedlove... I'd really like to get an Alembic Furthur soon...but it's just a matter of time. My amp is not the greatest just a cheap Fender FM, I'll definately be looking at an Orange stack or Fender Twin in at least six months.

Hmm... strange... I never thought of it being "little wing" influenced. It actually wasn't. It was pretty much my own feeling at the time. I was rather depressed about some personal issues I'd rather not get into about right now as it would make me feel depressed again. I actually didn't have any inspiration for that song... it was just feelings that were brought out at the time.

Basically... Playing music has always been away to make myself happy. Knowing I have a... gift I suppose. Since I'm not very good at doing many other things. I've always felt like a "family therapist" for everyone. A lot of people I know that I have played with have always felt... intimidated I suppose. Even a guitar teacher I had in the past seemed to be... and I mean... I know I have a gift of doing it... but people shouldn't be like that. People have to learn that it's all a happiness business. It's about making yourself happy. When I play for other people it usually makes them feel happy or entertained... I've always liked dealing with people. I don't like people on the whole... meaning their negative issues and such, but I've always liked helping people. It's not about impressing... it's about doing what you like and liking what you do. Just wanted to set that straight because I've gotten some rather pissed off people IMing me and E-Mailing me...

Ideally I'd trade in the DigiTech 2120 for the latest Eventide guitar processor (ooooh), spring for a Mesa Tri-axis (aaaah), keep the Marshall JMP-1, the Lexicon and the Fender HotRod Deville and have all the processors simultaneously run through a MIDI master foot controler. Hmm... actually the DigiTech would work really well for MIDI control, but it's slightly sonically repetative to my tastes as a processor.

And I'm sure once I had all that... the list of would like to have's would be no smaller, just replaced with other things. Lessee... then there'd be a MIDI pickup installed in (not on) something... along with a rack full of Kurzweil 2500R, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Emulator sampler... and... and... ~Seven

If i could only have two pieces of gear, it would be a B3 Hammond Organ and a Leslie. There is no sound more perfect than that!! :D
my dream kit would be that, and a black 9 foot steinway grand piano, a novation A station (which is already my baby yay!!) and a moog synthesizer (nomatter how unreliable they are!)

That would be cool. but....since i'm not materialistic, i think i'll stick with what i've got and not wish for what is not important. :)
